Thank goodness it was next to impossible for me and my buds to get steroids when we were younger - and we were scared as hell of all the stories - otherwise, who knows I might be dead. I'm not 'jacked' anymore, but still benching my bodyweight and most people think I look years younger than I am. Really, really informative video.

I'm 31 and only injured due to the military not lifting. The only reason I never tried it was because I grew up poor. I was introduced into it for the first time during college football. I was still too poor and drug tested nearly monthly. When I finally had money for it I was injured and knew I'd never be happy knowing whatever I end up looking like wouldn't be me it be the gear. Long story short, I was strong enough to compete strongman in tested events and in a different life I probably would have just to know how strong I could be. But I was born poor 😅

It’s absolutely insane to think this is so out of control. Social media is a cancer. I’m 6’3” and 230lbs, but 16 years ago when I was 18 I was probably 170-180lbs. I’m strong, healthy, and fit. It takes time, and there’s no point in rushing. Assuming you are healthy and die of old age, there’s a lot of life to live, and a lot of time to ‘get big’.

I am 33 years old now. I started lifting when I was 14 and I was the only guy @ that age in the whole gym. I never saw one person my age @ the gym until I got in my 20s. Teenagers back then did sports (soccer, running, athletics) but no one cared about muscles. I just got into it because I was fat, stiff and slow and no sport seemed to work for me. Even the really big juice heads (and enhanced more of them back at this time) told me to stay away from steroids. I even knew the local roid dealer because he lifted in my gym as well and I was the “baby” of the whole gym community. For no money in the world he would have sold me testosterone or anything else before I would turn 21. Even when I asked him about it when I was in my early twenties, he declined and told me not to ruin my youth. It is crazy how much things changed in the last 20 years.

exactly how i came up man. I started at 14 and 32 now. I was always the baby in the gym. I experimented with test blindly when i was 19-20. I realized how uniformed i was about using it and fitness as a whole. I got some major gains from it, but now at 32 i look better than i did then. Just eating right, supplementing right and putting in the work. I spend most of my free time researching hypertrophy and nutrition. I feel better than ever and do my best to be that "old man" in the gym giving advice to the younger lifters.

Same, we had great fitness influencers in our time who preached to stay natty and had the physiques to inspire us to do so - Matt Ogus, Chris Jones, Candito, Guzman. All of the big influencers now are clearly on roids and openly talk about it now. I’d probably have hopped on too if I was a kid in this day and age getting into bodybuilding. There’s few older, mainstream natural bodybuilder influencers nowadays to show how great your physique and life can be when you’re 30+ if you stay natural.

@@dmitri2366 They're on gear and training for up to 2 years. Struggling on 225 is laughable, when you put it into context. I bet they would be stronger and close to the same size with an optimal program. There's natty 15 year olds at the gym I go to who are 140-150lbs that can 1-2RM 225 and rep 200.

@@geo588 The kids I'm referring to are not powerlifting. They're just taking it chill and growing normally, staying consistent etc. It's not like they can enter comps at 15 anyways.

@@geo588 My point is that they're leaving a lot of gains on the table despite being on gear.
