@sonnick Man, didn't even Alt-Right was supporting Andrew? (It's what I've heard. Not sure). But I saw how "Trump" supporters felt about Bernie Brows in 2016. A lot of people were going between Bernie & Trump (I was one of them). Whatever Obama did, people hated his policies. Obviously. Otherwise they would continue with Hillary. Even Republicans hated Trump. He is not a hero. So we should always blame Obama for Trump. Well now we can chose between Trump & Biden.

What’s funny is people who are ultra progressive look at Yang and think he’s speaking their language. Simultaneously, people on the right are looking at Yang and thinking “I didn’t like this UBI communist crap but damn if he’s not making sense.” He pulled a lot of disinterested voters and a lot of disillusioned Trump voters out from the woodwork and was able to couple them with far left voters because he speaks about real issues that people care about and he does so with intelligence and humility. The fact that Biden got the nomination is so on brand for the Democrats it’s not really funny and the fact that Yang was sitting there waiting to be ushered into public service is so sad. What a missed opportunity

I've been politicly homeless for the last 15 years. Fairly fiscally conservative, but socially liberal. Andrews pragmatism spoke to me. The money he wants to spend is based on shifting incentives for a more prosperous society, based on science and research. We need more politicians like him. I love how many of the younger generations are running for various positions inspired by his platform. Hopefully our republic will withstand the time it will take to reform into a society with a much greater equality of opportunity.

One of the first videos of Yang I sat early on were these self proclaimed racist nazis praising Yang. It was a this biggest mindf*CK of the year for me. sonnick that’s just finger pointing and pushing the problem down the road. I have met HORRIBLE middle and high school teachers who deserve to be fired but aren’t due to incompetent school districts. I’m an engineer. I’ve met great engineers, average engineers and horrible engineers. In my experience teachers seem to be skewed heavily in the wrong direction. Many teachers put in a short day of work and take home 75k in LCOL areas. Don’t act like teachers are at the poverty line.
@uprightfossil66734 жыл бұрын
@sonnick oh no.... You are defending the teachers who my kids were smarter than in middle school. These teachers were so far behind in computer knowledge that my kids (and others) ran the class and the teachers sat on their asses and collected money for nothing. It is still happening at every level. Nepotism not meritocracy is to blame

When I was a substitute teacher (30years ago) it was obvious from the teacher comments that these children were so much smarter than the teachers that it became an issue. Some children became frustrated and bored while others became introverts others lashed out inappropriately. In my experience there was always at least one in every class and as many as three out of twenty five... That's not an insignificant demographic by any standard

"Xenophilic Restrictionism" is a great term for a concept I thought of a while ago, but never had the term to concisely describe. An example: the prevalence of Indian or Chinese software engineers is a handy way to sidestep the problem of having the US be being a technological titan with an insufficient education system. Why invest in home grown experts when you can just import them from a country where their education was cheap or free?

Very interesting hearing Weinstein first generalize to saying autistic child aren't treated well, then say it's about how HE wasn't treated well. I don't think that detracts from a very real issue. Is just a trend I've noticed where bitterness about a personal experience can get translated into talking in generalities. I 100% believe Yang has researched this nationwide. Am less sure about Weinstein's depth of research more broadly on this.

If the ppl complain, a new diversion in the media will be pushed and the ppl will forget all about their promises (Obama 2012) and support the media's preferred candidate. Democrat or Republican, both parties are thr exact same. This country is finished!

So disappointed in Eric and his willingness to be duped by gimmicks in his eternal hope to redeem the democrats. Yang is a tool as much as Nancy is. We witnessed Yang's swan dive into the CNN pit of vipers, and the Chinese language-only reveal of his social credit system for America before that. That Eric would still fall for an aimless opportunist man-child like Yang, repeatedly scold a friend like Dave Rubin, TDS desperation on full display, demonstrates what a helpless hostage Eric still is to the childhood pain his quest seeks to conquer. I want him to find answers, but not in frauds like this guy.
