It’s hard to watch games that go to the wire when your team is involved. But there are some real gems.

There's something about Jimmy Gopperth's kick at 3:14 - it's the angle, the strike, the way he walks screaming all tensed rather than running - it's utter drama and I remember loving that win for Wasps (not even a Wasps fan)

a great compilation of games that did go down to the wire. I guess a part 2 is inevitable lol. Matches that could be added : Wales vs. Ireland in 09 (Six Nations), The Try From The End of the World, Australia vs. France in the RWC 87 and basically the last 3 Champions Cup Final (2022, 2023 & 2024) were Leinster lost it either in extra-times or with 2-3 minutes remaining.

@@Hateeveryone4cku It's not as painful now that we have a few wins over the kiwis haha, especially the Series win in 2022 was a real accomplishment, however they've knocked us out of the last 2 world cups now, safe to say we have a proper rivalry now, well at least I hope the kiwis see it that way too. The All blacks are the greatest team in the history of the game, and to have their respect, says a lot about how far Irish rugby has come.

5:02 "World Rugby conceded that the referee (Joubert) made an error to award a penalty". But strangely World Rugby NEVER conceded that this referee made errorS during RWC2011 final in favor of NZ (and will never concede that referee made errorS during RWC2023 quarter final in favor of RSA). A diplomatic way to send France to hell.

this might be an unpopular opinion but I do not like this thing of a game going on forever beyond 80 minutes until the ball is dead. i do understand the drama, and the skill and concentration to keep the ball live and moving forward, but a game of rugby is meant to be 80 minutes - two 40-minute halves - and stretching the game out to 82, 85 or 90+ minutes goes against the spirit of the game. for me, at least. win your game within the 80 minutes.

That isn't even an unpopular opinion, that's just an incorrect opinion.
@warthonlowge37722 ай бұрын
it does end at 40/80 minutes. the thing is, it wouldnt be fair to wistle an attack just because you reached the 80th minute, you let it finish until something happens (knock on, lineout, try..). The team who is winning can shoot the ball out of the field after reaching the 80 minute and the game is over, and if you are winning and do not have possession of the ball, just try to recover it without foul play and kick it out of the field. If you keep doing foul play the game is on. Foul plays wont be helping the game to finish, it would be too much of a reward for those that commit foul play.
