I lost my daughter to this ideology about 6 years ago. She was 16 and when she told me she felt like a man, I booked psychology sessions because like I told her: “ you grew up in a toxic environment with a codependent mother and a narcissistic father.” My mistake was to send her to her father in the Bay Area thinking he would helped her better than me, since he was a male, I thought he could give her better guidance than me. Was I WRONG and STUPID. Her father insurance Kaiser Permanente took over and within 3 months my daughter stopped talking to me and accusing me of not accepting her for who “he” was. Even my friends judge me for “not supporting my son.” I felt everyone had gone INSANE! Both of my daughters do not speak to me because of this - I don’t support my “son.” I wanted to avoid the pain Richie is going through… yet it was impossible. I can see why parents go along - they are cast away if they don’t. My heart aches for Richie - I see my daughter in his experience. Yet, just like witch hunting, there is no way to stop it until he count if the casualties. It is my hope this children realize that they are more than their bodies and their personalities. Just like there is no difference between people with money and people without or between someone with a Ferrari and someone that can afford only a compact sedan. We are playing the big act of life, yet it does not make us who we “think” we are. I wish Richie realizes now that he is a loving and courageous human being and this experience won’t define him. My nephew could have EASILY been one of these 'trans' kids if we made a big deal about him wearing girl clothes and having long hair sometimes when he was younger.. he grew out of it.. still has long hair but that's the thing a child is going to do whatever gets them the most attention. These super lib parents are so excited to have a 'trans' kid that they shower then with love and affection. Also, the use of the term phalloplasty in this case is a misnomer, as is the case with a lot of the language T ideology uses. But, using the term phalloplasty allows them to say things like “they do it on cis men”. @@SheridanM-dc1nk I worked on a plastic surgery ward over 40 years ago and when a person transitioned from female to male, firstly the double mastectomy, then usually 2 years later a neo-phallus was constructed from a radial forearm flap. Back then no surgery was undertaken on any person under 18 years of age, and you would be referred to a psychiatrist. The treatment and management plan would be, you would be expected to live as a male or female, wear clothing that would identify you as such. You had to agree to follow protocols the psychiatrist stipulated. Keep appointments and engage with referrals to the departments psychologist and any nurses involved with your care. If a person was diagnosed with other mental disorders /illness this would effect how to help and offer medical, and ultimately surgical interventions. I never met anyone who regretted asking for help. I do remember nursing and caring for patients who were naturally very distressed when complications arose and the surgery was not successful. People used to move to London and get referred to a London hospital because they knew they would get help and be treated by empathetic professionals. I also met people who had personality disorders and threatened various degrees of self-harm because they felt the treatment wasn't moving quickly enough and believed that this approach would get them what they ultimately wanted. Very occasionally there were threats to members of the team and this behaviour resulted in immediate discharge from the clinic. That was then. Now maybe we should consider the motivations of professionals working in this specialty. We only have to reflect what happened at the Tavistock Clinic. I believe this young person would not have had gender reassignment with their presenting psychiatric diagnosis 40 years ago. Now it feels like the safeguards are highly questionable. Listening to this is making me feel very angry TBH.

As a vulnerable teenager I could have been convinced that was the case. So instead of making more flexibe those 'rules' people'd rather go into a life changing procedure. Which is baffling to me, you dont need to become a woman to use a skirt and wear pink. Just put on that damned skirt, you can still be called a man and be accepted with your pink skirt. That is what shows me that society isn't more tolerant nor open, we still need to label as a freak to people who want different things and force them to go into surgery instead of just accept differences without making a big deal. Detransitioners are forever going to be the strongest in my world. These surgeries, medication, and everything that goes with it, is for life not just a phase. I can’t get my wife pregnant, I can’t stop taking these meds, I also choose this and know the side effects. And I wish female and male wasn't taught as "social". I wasn't taught it that way, and I'm much better off for it. I hope that you can find your anchor and your way back from it. I am currently in a lesbian relationship. It would be easier to be a "male" before I come to her country because her country will jail a homosexual couple. But I am female because of my sex. It doesn't matter how much I lie to myself or others, in no way would I come closer to being male by taking hormones, going under surgery, or changing my name. Masculine females and feminine males as well as homosexual people much like myself are becoming victims of this "gender" as a social term every day, and I long for the day that we return to the basics and what is concrete instead of labeling the brain or soul as things they should have never been labled with.

I went through similar ordeal with my general practitioner dentist who put braces on me after pulling off 4 tooth(I didn't have overcrowding), telling me it'll solve my centre front tooth misalignment but it didn't. What resulted was a unnecessary 2.5 year braces treatment without addressing the reason I went in for. During the process I asked questions like, why had right cheeks sunk in and why my right eye socket had dropped few millimetres, all this was swept away by the nurses and the dentist himself by 'its normal'. Years later I found out that a general practitioner dentist can perform orthodontist treatment by just attending a 2 weeks course with a licensed orthodontist. Alarmed, because there was a phase from the 2000s with braces, every girl who didn't needed braces was having with the traditional 4 teeth removal braces treatment. This happened when I was 22 year old back in 2003. Something I learned is that doctors, healthcare professional are just people like you and me, do not put your total trust on them.

However, I was also extremely athletic (trained professionally for the 1984-88 US Summer Olympics (Track & Field; power lifting, & body building). I was born w/PCOS, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, so I had a problem w/facial/body hair, I was barren, never developed breasts, well endowed below, & such. I was also very bothered by males, and actually got 2 male stalkers. I was always a Lipstick Lesbian, but I was also molested by 5 male family members, from under a year old until I was 16. Without realizing it, I transitioned because I was trying to stop being bothered by men. Yet, that issue didn't get solved, because then I had male to female Trans women bothering me. Once I realized the truth, I de-transitioned. I should have taken more time to try & figure everything out. My voice is back to normal, but I can grow a full beard/mustache. I do regret transition; also because I am a Born Again Christian. I've been alone since 2004, and I have no interest in relationships, sex, or anything else that has to do with dating/relationships. Nor do they claim to. Nice strawman. They do however, change the phenotypical traits that people associate with gender constructs and sexual identity, to make life easier for people with gender dysphoria to see themselves and be seen, according to their brains perception of what sex they are and what gender identity they resonate with. There is some preliminary evidence to suggest the possibility that gender dysphoria is not merely a 'perception' disorder, but actually a disorder in which the person literally has brain structure differences associated with their 'felt' sex, rather than their phenotypically 'observable' sex. Sex is not entirely defined by chromosomes, but you won't bother to do the necessary research required to arrive at this understanding as that would hurt your ideological preferences. Abuse of trans healthcare systems by incentivised professionals and corporate interests is a legitimate concern. The concept of trans healthcare itself, is not. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8955456/ www.mdpi.com/2077-0383/10/2/345# onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/brb3.691 www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7415463/

@@beer1403 Alright you've convinced me, I'll repost my original comment. @Infinityplus1111 Nor do they claim to. Now, coming back to @beer1403. What is sex? Is it chromosomes? Is it sex organs? Is it testosterone/oestrogen levels? Is it phenotypes such as beards, hair length, breasts, body frame, hip proportions, brain structure? It is all of those things, because we cannot scientifically lock 'sex' into one category. So the concept of 'sex' is not as clear and reducible as you would like to think it is for the sake of your ideology. So what happens when someone presents with one of the above features in a way that contradicts their other features? What objective, unequivocal feature do you rely upon to define that persons' sex? Do you defer to a hierarchy of features? In this case, you might say chromosomes have the final say over anything else. But that stops working when you have cases of people presenting with chromosomes that are non-binary. What if their chromosomes are female but their other features are predominantly male? Do you want that person who you would ordinarily view as a woman to get transitioned? Or will you still judge them because all you'll see at face value is the fact that they are 'trans'. How about, for once, rather than people oversimplifying issues that are rich with complexity and nuance and which have massive implications for a vulnerable minority in our society, we bother to look at things with intellectual integrity instead? How does that sound?

Pray that God will draw your son to Jesus. He can't come to the Lord unless the Lord draws him. I don't care what a person's back story is. Anyone will find unlimited love, acceptance, and peace in Jesus Christ, if they are born again, via Acts 2:38. Water baptism in Jesus name is burying your old self with Jesus. You rise up out of that water with all sin forgiven. And you can feel it. Then being filled with the Holy Ghost, receiving from God Himself a prayer language called "other tongues," is when supernatural power begins. That is the evidence of being filled with the Holy Ghost. Please, pray for this for your son. It's called born again for a reason. It's beyond receiving Christ as Lord. Beyond believing on Jesus. I think you are so strong and full of empathy for others who are going through difficult and challenging emotions. Take care of yourself, Jo.

I cannot believe a surgeon would perform this mutilation & an entire clinical team allow it to happen. They should be held criminally responsible. Thank you Ritchie for articulating, with such clarity, your valuable perspective of this horrendous process and its devastating results. Your intelligence and courage shine through. Bravo!

How can they view it as "doing no harm"? It's outrageous.

Ritchie's therapist couldn't let him say that he regretted his surgery bc that would have meant that the therapist did something wrong. That was his one motivation, self preservation. I can't believe our society has allowed this complete nonsense to continue.

Nazi experimental inhumane. Shocking, Horrific Story. Wishing Ritchie well.

The main concern to them is always money. They don’t want to be sued or financially liable for the damage they caused. They couldn’t care less about their patients. This is why I lost all trust in medical “professionals.” Growing up around a lot of nurses and doctors, you’d be sick to your stomach to hear some of the disturbing things they say or believe about their patients. The dehumanization in the medical industry is out of control

Well put. Self preservation and finacial rewards.

@@beckee6282 Couldn't agree more after having been through 5 years of cancer and other treatment myself. De-humanising is just about the right term. It gets to a point where you realise most of them don't actually see you as a person in your own right. You're just a number and they aren't really that bothered whether or not you actually fully recover. I feel for the ones who do still care because theirs is just a voice in the wilderness. The situation now is literally at a point where it will all soon come tumbling down and it'll be blamed on patients, not the so-called 'professionals' who have utterly failed us.

Yes, that would be a reason for inquiry into professional conduct and qualification subject to recall of license for malpractice.

A Dr who specializes in Transitioning requires a patient goes a series of physiological meetings before deciding to perform surgery. It is up to the patient to inform the Dr if at any time they change their mind

Every one of these so called Dr.’s should be charged with medical abuse and jailed!!!

These detranstioners stories are absolutely heartbreaking. These doctors would knowingly do this to young kids.
