When I saw you didn't require shoes in your shop, I was stoked about the possibility of going to work there. Turns out it's a sales position. And I'm guessing that requires shoes.

I'm just over here finding it hard to believe that you would help these guys create more pallets, when I'm doing all I can to take them all apart, it's a losing battle.

I haven't read all the comments so no one has suggested it, I would think the wheel assembly would be less of a trip hazard if they were rotated by 90° to the position they are mounted now.

Interesting idea. Thinking out loud here. That could be built in the base of a bench just making the magnets accessible from the inside of the bench. Making it mobile but not having any wheels or casters sticking out
@AndrewKleinWW
@AndrewKleinWW 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely, and if you thought about maximizing the mechanical advantage of the magnets a bit more than I did you wouldn't need such large/expensive ones as I used.

La idea esta muy buena, pero es muy costosa difícil y poco práctica. Existe muchas formas de realizar el mismo resultado sin utilizar los imanes y las barras de hierro. 👍 Saludos desde Caracas, Venezuela.

Love this build (as all of your builds.) But my question with a lot of the builds I see that drop (or raise) one wheel at a time is whether or not there's a chance of the base racking over time? Most of the plans I see of this kind can remedy that possibility with a bridge or joining piece between the casters. That's not the case here, unless you build a "U" shaped treadle that would allow them to keep a foot on it until both mag switches are released and let them go together. Or is that possibility or racking mitigated by the addition of the cross struts you added? I'm always hesitant anytime I see that the corners have to move somewhat independently, but not certain how much concern is warranted and how much is just me worrying needlessly. I'd love to know your thoughts. It may save me a buttload of design and construction time!

Fantastic design. Do you think a smaller piece of steel will work or would a permanent magnet work in place of the piece of steel? A piece of steel that thick is not something most people will have.

AFAIK, two such mag switches would cost about $100. But they accomplish about the same as 3/8" bolt cost a buck or two.

Oh man those casters are so expensive here in our country. Maybe due to exchange rates probably. How I wish I could even just buy 4 pieces for my superheavy wooden scaffold but really such expensive item here in our country.

That is such a cool idea. Now if only I could find these magswitches in Mexico at a reasonable price (and not a 50+% higher price)...
@WoLpH
@WoLpH 2 жыл бұрын
Those magswitches must be cheap over there. Over here a set of 4 casters that could do that only cost me about 60 euro while a single magswitch is 70 euro. Nice build regardless!
