I love this drink - my ex mother in law for me a set of martini glasses and a martini recipe and it is all just vodka with a tiny bit of something else like a chocolate martini is just vodka and you line the cup with chocolate syrup/sauce - not like chocolate flavored vodka just some chocolate on the cup, basically it’s just multiple shots drank slowly.

The former bartender in me must admit, I never put vermouth in people's martinis unless requested lol. I know it's the classic recipe, but most people DO NOT like vermouth these days in their martinis. So yes, just chilled vodka or gin (: what a great time!

I drink a lot with my mom, and the first time we made a martini was with sweet vermouth and it was disgusting. However, we did enjoy it with the dry vermouth! We now put some lemon shavings and that's it. Martinis are fun, it's just booze. I feel like just vodka wouldn't taste like a martini, but will try.
