I know in Kenya there is a vet team in some parks that rescue and performs surgical operations on some animals that are wounded, I wonder if in Botswana such a thing exists? Hopefully the leopard can still feed.

Botswana is top of our bucket list for a safari to see Chobe, Moremi the M pans (not attempting to spell it 😅) and the desert and delta properties too doing Botswana. We did our first Safari in South Africa 10 weeks ago and we are now doomed for life 🤓 this video brought tears to our eyes your cinematography and photography is outstanding man! Great video as always....Looks like you pulled the trigger on the 400 f2.8 after the 200-600. Congrats. Did you get any further update on the leopard with the broken jaw ? Was it possible to treat her or was it too late 😢

@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotography The trip was now 13 months ago and yes, it was a great trip. As a keen photographer I was a little frustrated at times as we were in a party of 12 in a 12 seater vehicle and there was no opportunity to get low with the camera. Quite correctly, our guide / driver would not let us out of the vehicle other than at designated tea-break spots. I did get some reasonable lion, leopard and elephant photos but, with so many peope in the vehicle it was very limiting as to the angles i could get. Hoiwever, the bug has bitten and my wife and i have booked a two week camping safari in the Moremi and the Chobe for September 2025 - this time with a tour group that limits the party size to 7 so i am hoping for better photo opportunities. Can't wait!!.

@@AndrewMacdonaldPhotography Yeah, I'm in two minds as I have two FF bodies which I plan to take both and I'm thinking the 500 f/4 on body A, and either 70-200 f/2.8 on body B or 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 on body B. I'm unsure what f/stops I will need to be using throughout the drives, and thus if I should be using my 1.4x on the 500 f/4. You see I try to avoid changing lenses while I'm on a drive (besides the dust you often don't have the time) and I appreciate time of day makes a difference cause early in the morning and late in the evening you want faster f/stops. From previous different safaris I was at 560mm (400+1.4x) on a crop body and wanted more reach. I also did safaris with 600 mm on a crop body and still wanted more reach :-) Now, one idea is to have 700mm (500+1.4x) on a FF body. In previous safaris I had the 70-200 f/2.8 or 100-400 on the second FF body. The good thing with a 100-400 is its closest focusing distance compared to the 70-200, but of course the 70-200 is faster. So I have tried all sorts of combos on different safaris. And I'm still looking for the goldilocks combo. Any advice welcome
