Andrew, there is an interesting antenna you can easily build for these frequencies, the double rhombic antenna (or simple). Only some wires and a resistor (and maybe a balun). Can be made on a carboard and turned to desired polarization.

Hi Andrew. I am duplicating your work for hobbying purposes. Doesn't soldering the rods on the top side would give a better performance because of the larger and uninterrupted resonance cavity at the bottom? I have another question. Are we keeping the impedance of the strip at 6:47 to 50 ohm. If so, it should have been 3.4 mm wide. If not, can you help me to understand. Thank a lot man.

@@andrewmcneil you called them rods if I remember correctly. The bronze wires with 1.6 mm diameter that soldered to 20x20 mm pieces. Thanks for answering.

@@bastadimasta Right, I understand, they would make little difference to the performance of the antenna but moving them to the outside would lengthen the transmission line and could change the operating frequency.

Thank you for making back to back videos on parabolic reflector antenna feeder , I was looking for few ideas. I wanted to know if the gain of feeder increases the overall gain of the antenna ..
@lustrup3 жыл бұрын
The antenna gain is in the parabolic dish gain (not the feed gain). You can NOT just add feed gain with the dish gain! The feed is for focusing the RF to iluminate the dish with minimum spillover at the edges.
