Certainly wasn't planned, on our return we made sure we took the toll Motorway and the toll tunnel certainly made it easier to get to the ferry port 👍

It certainly wasn't an ideal route while towing a 7.5MTR caravan, certainly came back to the ferry port on M11 toll road & Toll tunnel so much easier, thanks for watching 👍

Dublin is a nightmare. The 10 euro toll puts people off . I find Rosslare route much less stressful. Enjoy your holiday

The reason the Sat Nav told you to turn right when you reached the Liffey you had it set to "No Tolls", The East Link toll bridge was just ahead had you gone over the river there..

Dear Madam and Sir, I'm a Dubliner, but now live near Carcassonne in SW France. You were lucky. When i arrived at Dublin Port last year, it took two hours to get from the ferry to where you turned left to retrace your steps on the North 🎉side of the Liffey. You did very well. Take a bow. And my swearing began long before yours. I ask if your your problem with locating the arsvan site may have been a confusion in Garmin between miles and kms. 😅ireland now uses kms. But the caravan site people ought to have advised you of the difficulties of zccess you experienced. I live in a rural🎉area where wine is the product and know i am likely to 😅meet tractots that take up most of the road width, 🎉so i am forewarned. Anyway, i trust you had a great holiday.

Hi thanks for watching and your advice, it turned out to be the weight entered into Sat Nav, I had entered unit size & length, also 3.5T - set weight to 4.5T and it seems to be behaving itself 🤞

I have found that sat navs are a complete pain if you set them to no toll roads or motorways in Ireland (I live here) Ive had it take me over the slieve blooms on boreens on the motorbike as it was avoiding any N road bigger than a path😂.

I have been using sat nav,s since they came out.I,v been all over Ireland and most of Europe on my motor bike, the sat nav will always get you to your destination not necessarily the way you want to use after all it,s not a mind reader i,ts all about the way it,s set up..Is,nt small back roads what motorbiking is all about,I,v been down some amazing back roads and met some very friendly locals in Spain and Bosnia..

These weren't back roads. They were basically potholed tracks with grass up the middle. Sorry mate but I don't ride a trails bike or adv@@patwatters1

Well done guys on your travels through Dublin city centre!, Believe me as some one who knows you probably saved time by missing the M50 ring road car park as it is similar to the M25 London ring rd.

The default via toll option would have avoided the Port Tunnel and M50 as the quickest route to the N11 / M11 would have been the first exit over the East Link at the Point roundabout.

I have the Avtex tourer two sat nav and I went to camc site in Cheddar. I clicked on the preloaded Cheddar camc information and ended up going down very narrow roads. When I arrived on site the warden told me to read the directions in the campsite directory, which was different to the route the sat nav took me. I complained to Avtex who informed me if the road is wider than your outfit it will take you down there. He advised me to change the default weight on the sat nav from 3500kg to 4000kg and it will take you down the HGV routes. When leaving the Cheddar site I altered the weight on the sat nav and it took me the route advised in the campsite directory. I have used this method for the past three years in the UK and all over France without any problems. The only disadvantages I have found the speed limit in France displayed will be different because you have programed the sat nav for a 4000kg.

We had another issue going to the Blarney caravan site it took us past Blarney's turn off and told us to turn right across a duel carriageway then saw a sign Not suitable for HGV"s could not reverse back onto busy duel carriageway so ended up just hoping we did not meet another vehicle, all was OK and arrived at site, we did a test on Google and that took us off the turning to Blarney , so altered dimensions on Sat nav to be around 1/2mtr wider and a 1mtr longer as a test to leave the site to our next one and it still took us the narrow road, luckily we knew the way out as we had been out and about, that will be in another video, will have to change weight to 4000kg to see if it helps, thanks for the info 👍

Not a bad route to go on. You managed to avoid the toll on the Western Parkway by doing that. It isn't any quicker using Dublin's orbital motorway to the N-11. 🙂

Saved only only saved one toll, over the East Link Bridge - by taking the first exit at the Point over the river and onto the N11 via Strand Road, Blackrock (Rock Road) and Mount Merrion Ave rather than the exit which brings you up the North Wall and into the city centre. No point heading to the M50 from the port if aiming for the N11 / M11

What were they doing on the BOAT???? Why did they not havr a look at google mams on the boat. Taking the tunnel puts you on the motorway to Belfast in 5 minutes ..On the M50 to west ann South. Except Wexford where it is quicker to take the N11.
