My name is Kevin Rich. You have inspired me to pick up a paint brush again. After twenty years of discarding the idea of art, I've once again picked up some artistic juice to start afresh. For whatever reason, I do seemed to have improved.

I studied painting and design and i made my master long time ago. I tried hard the last 40 years, but i will never reach you, not even close. Thank you for sharing your skills. You are an outstanding amazing artist and inspiration, not only for me.
@morriszachrisson83595 ай бұрын
Never think so. Art is not about skills. It's about marketing. Cezanne, Van Gogh, Malevich and many others had no close skills either, but they are greater than both him and you.

Yet again a painting tutorial that is made brilliantly and narrated flawlessly. As always you spare us the pontification, self-aggrandizement and cheap, misplaced humor so rampant in most other instructional videos. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your talent. Thanks to your parents (who I believe are also artists) for their part in raising such an awesome person.

I saw a painting here in our place and its monet like but somewhat 3d in different angles. Its the shadow and color choice i believe.
@robertchilders86988 ай бұрын
Good guess! Very observent! If your looking at the painting at differnt angles, you are seeing the textures- not the color choice. you are right about the 3-D effect! I've been grappling about this subject for the last few years! What did I do? Been oil painting all my life- self taught! I have always wondered about the embossed Christmas cards of my youth! What if I applied that to my oil Painting? So I got some epoxy putty to make a " raised surface" to under lay my painting! now I have to learn sculpturing. - a "babe in the woods"! I paint in "glazes" over the " raised surfaces" . Makes a great 3-D effect with different light angles!! Especially with rocks and trees! Just beginning a new adventure! Just found a channel by Andrew Tischler. One of the best currant artist.. com bining realism with my newly discovered technique!
@7msjster3 жыл бұрын
I'm a visual learner. As a watch your channel I reflect on how much I've discovered just playing. Watching these videos of various artists and styles. Find myself combining techniques and opposite materials. I LOVE texture. My first painting was after watching Iris Scott finger painter. 4 hours to execute with the HOBBY LOBBY oil kit for 4.99! the "Jesus" 12x16 Every thing after Jesus was difficult! Such a metaphor indeed. Then I find you! You are so opposite! I'll pick up the brush but you just made it look engaged...I've saved all my old brushes for the exact reasons you gave. Thank you! Time to paint!

I wanted to thank you, Andrew. I find your work is very inspiring. I observe and pick up what I need to learn. I'm a person that loves paint. I have a compassion. I lost it. For a little while, but now I've picked up my paintbrush. Once again in my canvas and paint. And my most interests now is water rocks and trees. I'm from down the coast, so we have very rugged rocks, sharp angles and shapes of all sorts. I'm around sea water. And lost a kelp on a rocks, but the scenery is breathtaken.

Andrew, you are an excellent teacher! You explain everything in detail - how you start off, what colors you use, how you do the color mixing, the concepts behind how you give depth to the scene etc. One innovative idea I learned was the use of a small sheet of glass to know the reflection of the mountain and surrounding objects invthe water! Really a great idea!

I'm working on a couple paintings at once right now... and this painting has helped me with both! One is of a koi pond with big rocks in background. I was struggling with the water looking realistic, but your trick using glass is amazing!! I was also using greenery on the sides and on the rocks, so you helped me with it all!!! Your technique with your grasses and greenery helped me with my beach painting as well. Thank you... always learn so much from you!

Really appreciate your posts, Andrew. Your attitude is always positive. I have no painting experience, but enjoy watching the process the way one might enjoy a time-lapse of a building construction. There's a real pleasure watching the elements build in dimension from an empty "lot" to a completed construction. It dispels the "impossibility" of the process and shows the logic of it's production in a way that inspires confidence that aspiring people can relate to.
