I've also noticed that since re-enrolling my fingerprints in A13 beta, the reliability of the sensor has been greatly improved, to the point where it misses maybe 5% of the time, compared to 10-20% of the time in A12

I'm coming from a 3a and love my 6a. I had issues with the fingerprint sensor not recognizing me with a cheap screen protector but no longer since buying a more reputable brand name screen protector. Also, no issues overheating, lag, or bugs. The damn thing is slick and handles everything well. The 60Hz display is absolutely smooth and beautiful to me. I play absolutely everything flawlessly without lag: COD, Asphalt, Genshin Impact, Modern Combat, etc. The fingerprint sensor is on the slower side but absolutely reliable for me. I found that turning on "lift to check phone" and/or "tap to check phone" makes the unlocking experience faster. Like it's very noticeable. It's like it's slower from a fully locked standby position but when you lift or tap the phone and the background processes get going, the fingerprint authentication is buttery smooth for me. With all that being said, that was before I just spent the last 10 hours playing with the phone after installing the Android 13 Beta 4 version and OMG is it a f'en rocketship. Everything is so much snappier and slick. Apps open shockingly fast and every animation/transition is crazy quick. The same is true for the fingerprint sensor but it is still noticeably faster if you tap the phone first or enable lift to check before using the fingerprint. Seriously though, this thing is a beast. I was more than content and happy with it but after installing the Android 13 beta 4 version I'm literally blown away. It's a night and day difference!

hey Emad as always, thank you for the amazing details you share with us! so I have 2 weird bugs on Android 13 on P6P i shared both with Google but still no fix... so first if you touch the screen at the bottom anywhere near the home gesture, sometimes it flashes showing your home screen, it's really annoying if you're using an app and need to interact with the bottom part frequently. The 2nd bug is related to having multiple profiles, if you're using the 2nd profile for some time, usually it will cause the main profile to lag and it's really bad that it will take you about 2 seconds to go back home from any app! rather than that, everything works flawlessly!

For the overheating 4K videos have you got the option to save video files in HEVC enabled in the Google Camera app? This option has been known to cause the device to overheat because the x265 codec is much more CPU intensive than the x264 codec. if you've got HEVC turned on in the Google Camera app settings then turn it off and try recording 4K videos and see if the phone still overheats.

@@IDTR No problem, happy to help. I've got the 6 Pro and it's great and if Google can figure out these kinks then the phone would be perfect. Also for the video framerate 30 FPS would be less computationally expensive than 60 FPS but not as much as having HEVC on. I mainly record in 4K 30 FPS because 30 FPS has better low light performance and 4K30 is the only video mode in which you can use the optical 4x periscope camera.

A12/A13 have long suffered from a bug which resets app settings after each reboot. Say, for instance, that you want Facebook to have restricted use of battery background and you set it up that way, it'll be gone after the reboot. It had been fixed in the QPR3 update, but now for Beta 4.1 it's back again. Have you reported this one?

One bug that I commonly experience is when you're going from portrait to landscape mode and watching a video. When you press the full screen button, the swipe gesture bar doesn't go to the bottom of the screen like it should. It stays on the short end of the phone instead of going to the bottom.

Question if anyone can answer. I've been having problems with my Bluetooth with my pixel, I use the JBL buds and when I make calls MOST times people can't here me, I should far or in and out. I have swapped the buds twice thinking it was them but still the same thing happened. So my question is, is anyone else having that problem? (Wondering if it's this actual phone or not)

Got the 6p and had lots of glitches til I did a master reset and then it's been my favorite phone I've ever had. I've been the proud many Google phones. HTC G1, G2. HTC One S, then One M7, M8. Nexus 6P then Pixel 1 XL, 2XL moved away to the OnePlus 6P McClaren Edition. Back to the Pixel 5 and now the Pixel 6 Pro. Love love vanilla android.

I feel very lucky. I was able to record over 10 minutes of video, outside in the heat, at 4K @ 60fps. The back of the phone did get a little warm, but I wouldn't say "hot". No issues here.

Even my Pixel 5 was terrible with pocket dialing from the emergency screen. Drove me nuts until I disabled "lift to check" and "tap to check". Of course I shouldn't need to do that. Glad it's fixed

I have a bug on my Pixel 6a when the phone is in landscape mode and you press the power off button the Google home quick icon from lock screen appears on the always on display.

What is not fixed yet and most annoying is the brightness slider that stays on top of the phone even after dropping down the quick toggle. All android smartphones allow you to bring the brightness slider down but Google doesn't. That was the reason I returned the pixel 6 Pro

I have a bug where when my pixel 6 reaches 10% it turns on battery saving mode but when i turn on my phone is would look extremely blurry. But after a few seconds it would fix itself.

I'm running 4.1 on my Pixel 6 pro. It seems wireless charging will stop functioning after about 4 or 5 days. I have a Pixel stand gen 1 and 2 and the phone does not register when placed on them after this length of time. I need to reboot the phone to fix. Has anyone else noticed this?

Do you face the swipe up gesture issue too? The gesture is laggy and sometimes it just doesn't register the swipe. It takes me 4 to 5 tries before it actually acknowledges the swipe. (6 pro Android 13 beta)

I recently installed Android 13 on my Pixel 6 Pro. It's been working well overall but I have one annoying issue. After using data, I would turn it off. However, even though the data toggle is off, my phone is still somehow connected to data and I still receive all my notifications, messages, etc. Somehow my phone is still connected to data even though I turned it off. The only "fix" to this issue is by turning on Airplane mode for a second or reseting my internet on my phone. Has anyone had a similar problem and a solution to the problem?

Google says android 13 beta is not active for the 6a, and it should be ready "next week", for the security update its a staged rollout so it could take time to get it, or you might get it tomorrow with the august update

I would give it a shot. An old friend of mine had used iphones between the 3gs , 5s and either an 8 or iphone X and switched to the Pixel 5a. He HMU on Facebook messages to let me know that he finally had switched. We used to have friendly arguments on the competing operating systems, and I'm sure he was well aware that I always swore by Nexus or Pixel devices. But I certainly didn't prompt and buy it. In any case he was extremely happy with it, the battery life screen quality and size, overall performance; and of course the camera. Additionally it will receive quarterly pixel feature drops that usually include things that new models debut with or just new software in general. This is a huge plus because I don't know of any other manufacturer that does that. I am considering getting the phone for somebody for the upcoming holiday season. Water resistance and 5 years of security updates in a $450 phone is great. Plus, if you traded in the 12 they're probably going to give a great trade -in value for it so it could come to significantly cheaper
