I got question. My MULF2 module is not working. can't comnect the Bluetooth. I plan to change it with applecar play/android auto and remove the MULF2 module. Can i connect to the apple car play without the MULF2 module with all the function works well ? Please help me 🙏

With the touch screen,it does seem a long reach…,I went for mmi,original screen,via original menu,using the original toggle👍

I went for the M12v unit , I favoured the drive wheel use over the touch screen , also aux audio isn’t that good compared to Fibre optics offer with the MMI units.

@antoniodiaz4520 Hi, you can buy an adapter that goes in the back of the idrive and it automatically codes in AUX and they give you a cable too for the socket. You can find them on ebay I believe.

I don’t have aux or Bluetooth audio and after the install everything works perfectly just no sound.. Any suggestions?

@keving8918 I would say it's because you don't have AUX but mine is working without it being plugged into the AUX socket so I think it connects through the Bluetooth on the display. Only thing I can think of is go through all the settings on the new display and the original screen on the new display. On the original screen you would usally set it to AUX but in your case I would select CD. Good luck 👍🏻

Hey there. Nice video. I have only one concern. I have to spend almost every day about an hour in my car. I like to watch videos while I'm waiting. My question is this : Would it discharge the battery If the engine not running?

@farkasgabor4084 Hey, thank you! It would depend of the health of your battery and how long you were watching videos. I would like to think you would be ok for an hour. Hope that helps

Do you know how well they hold up over time? My stock bmw one is juuussst starting to feel slow at 15 years old and thinking of upgrading

@denbyscott5745 I haven't had any issues and because of the tech and the software on these screens I think they shouldn't deteriorate over time really. If they were to slow down or show signs of aging they can send out a software update. Hope that helps

you should turn on the switch of Use Car's Bluetooth in the Settings when you use original car Bluetooth.

@djvenom1842 Yeah they do there's about 10 to choose from but I think there's a way to add more or use personalised wallpapers I think anyway.

@sahitdedushi It's comes up if you have the original home screen on. I think you need to change settings for it to come up on new home screen. But a camera is easy and cheap to fit too if you want too.

Hi BF, impeccable timing again, ordered unit gets here next week. I will need to do the AUX addition at the back of the unit as my car didn't come with an AUX plug at the back of the centre console (previous owner swapped the headunit for one that has the AUX option). I noticed that your new AUX cord doesn't have an inline resistor, but, all the ones I see on Amazon do. Will the resistor have an effect on the line output like the original BMW AUX socket did (before you bypassed it)? Hopefully this makes sense.

@TheBimmerFixer Fantastic video, picked up one of these for my 2008 e61. Your video saved me hours & £££s! For some reason I'm having a couple issues with connecting to the android auto screen, I can only connect to bluetooth via the apps on my phone but not AA. Also my screen goes blank whenevr I try to navigate to the oem idrive screen & I have to turn the battery off & on again. Have tried a reboot & checked the aux settings are set to close. Any ideas where I'm going wrong?!

@TheBimmerFixer discovered the problem with connecting to AA was my phone not having 5g! Switched to work phone & works like a charm. Also changing the oem screen resolution fixed that problem, only now I can't interchange back from the oem interface. Can probably live with that if I have to! Also really rate the tip to conceal the aux input inside the centre console - where did you pick up the blanking plates?

@chrisheal9629 Hi mate well done for discovering that problem. Well because I ended up unplugging the AUX cable and finding out it worked with out it plug in in popped the socket back in place. If you can, try doing the same 👍🏻 I found the sound better too.

@skidillydiddily8571 Thats great news! Let me know if you have any questions. Something worth trying is not connecting the AUX cable to the AUX socket in the car. The other day I unplugged the AUX cable but the music still came through the speakers! Probably a bit clearer too! So try play some music before finally fitting everything back together. It might all work without the Aux cable 👍🏻

Should work with any E60 or e61 chassis (so yes) just need to find out if you have CIC iDrive or CCC, will slightly change installation process

I just installed it. And there is no difference between with AUX without AUX. Mine is E60 CIC and the quality of sound is weird I can hear it but the tone is so strange.😂

@doobyscooby8413 Yeah use it every day and don't have any complaints. Something I found out was that the head unit seems to work via Bluetooth without connecting the AUX cable like I did in the video. I would say the sound is better like this too! I don't think the manufacturer even know its possible to do that way as they say connect the aux cable.

@@TheBimmerFixer I'm not totally sure i understand what you mean by that? do you mean that the head unit works without the need to purchase the aux cable that you used in the video? If so how does the head unit communicate with the speakers in the car if not by the aux input? sorry if im not understanding what you meant by that. I'm sold on this unit so going to be purchasing very soon for my 2008 520d. Only thing that confuses me slightly is the aux female cable that you plug into the back of the connector. would you recommend just purchasing the exact cable you did and follow along exactly as your video? @doobyscooby8413 Yeah its working without it being connected to the AUX. It must be working by the fiber optics cables and the harness adapter. Yeah probably best to do what I did in the video first then try it without the cable and see if it works. Then you can choose what works best for you. 👍🏻

Just installed one today, looks great and connects but i cant get any music or sound out of it. The screen resolution settings all come up with the green/purple (as shown in the manual under faq) but i cant change the aux setting on the OEM because of it. No reply of autoabc still. Any suggestions?

@bradshelling9945 Hi, you need to set the screen resolution to your orginal screen size then that will allow you to select aux.

Manaul says to power off each time after changing and ive tried that too. Its the CCC type so almost identical to your video except my radio is smaller

Yeah they checked a picture i sent and said its this type. Nothing on the box say CCC 🤔. Research now and it could be a M-ASK unit. 🤦‍♂️
