Is it possible to unlock bootloader for snapdragon version? Is there a trusted source I can go to do get it done? It seems over the years rooting samsung devices just get more complicated.

it depends on where the Snapdragon version was sold. I imported my snapdragon S22 this year from hong kong, so it supports bootloader unlock just like the global exynos version does but if you got the snapdragon version in places like the US or canada, then sadly, the only services I've seen to offer bootloader unlock were a paid service that had threads open in the XDA forums

Is this still up to date? I just purchased an s21 ultra, i was able to switch the oem unlock setting but im not able to get to recovery mode or download mode using the hardware keys. 'adb reboot recovery' gets me into recovery and when I select the bootloader option it takes me to a download screen but does not give me an option to unlock the bootloader.

you need to use the USB method when booting into download mode. I mention this in my download mode s21 video

@@ExplainingAndroid have tried everything, when I restart my device and go straight to developer options I can see OEM unlock and I can activate it, but when I leave the developer option and re enter the OEM unlock is gone, also tried to directly boot into download mode after activating OEM unlock it doesn’t give me the option to long press vol. up

When I do this on the CHina variant. the OE unlock is no where to be found after unlockin boot loader the first time

once you unlock the bootloader, the oem lock toggle is grayed out in my experience. so whether you can see it or not, you likely aren't going to be able to relock thebootloader

Yes you will be able to downgrade to any os, even ANDROID 4 if someone made a compatible version in the XDA forums.

Error! I held up and down - inserted usb - blue OS screen. Now I pushed up to enter the unlock bootloader and the phone turned off. In Canada.

Note: This only does this when I unplug usb. If I keep it plugged in it continues....says FRP lock: ON. This is my issue. Ex gf took charge of email and being malicious so looking for remedy. Suppose need to turn FRP LOck off hmmm

I've recently purchased an exynos S21 Ultra brand new and out of the box it had developers options enabled and oem unlock as well. I performed a factory data reset and the same thing. This is the first phone that I haven't had to tap the build number 7 times to enable developers options. Thoughts?

certainly doesn't sound like a "brand new" phone to me. but i have heard of a handful of instances where software from the factory isn't set up correctly (just never had that happen to me) you doing a factory reset is smart. I would also flash factory images with Odin just to be 100% sure all code on the phone is what you've downloaded from an official firmware (using a tool like samfirm or frija)

The only problem I have is that when I'm on a call data drops down to 2G speeds compared to the US model. Is there any way to change the CSC after rooting in order for the phone to perform better with my carrier? The phone came with the OYM multi CSC.

I have a S21 Ultra branded on H3G UK carrier and flashed a stock official rom to get rid of the branding , but everytime the phone restarts after flashing, the embedded apps get automatically installed. It seems like they are built in the bootloader or something. Can this method erase the branding ?

Well. I try to root this S21 Ultra with bootloader unlocked using Magisk but the device stacks up at boot and won't boot again. I tried 3 different methods but the result still the same. Maybe needs TWRP for this device

yes, you should be able to switch CSC firmware types as long as the hardware matches. for example, don't flash an AT&T, Verizon Wireless (or any firmware for Snapdragon variants) on devices like you and I have that use the Exynos chipset. but Samsung only sells the Exynos version in the EU countries (if I recall correctly) so you should be safe switching from between these two region firmwares

Im guessing you can with twrp and removing some files related to your lockscreen. I have tried this long ago with my Note 3. But I do not recommend you to unlock your bootloader for one purpose. Because this might make your data more vulnerable, and most likely to be stolen.

not yet. the dev of magisk recently pushed out an update to the canary build of magisk that should work with the phone. but I'm worried about doing a guide on it right now as this early build of magisk can have many bugs in it
