I've seen a few people have issues with their first flight due to the controller not being calibrated properly. Therefore I'd recommend new drones owners calibrate the controller as well, before their first flight. And immediately after take off check that your controller actions correspond with the response of the aircraft, ie : up, down, forward, back, yaw left & right, sideways left & right.

Hi, thanks for the info. Just a note don’t know if it makes a difference but as part of the compass calibration I believe they ask you to point the nose down during the second part of the calibration. Also to make sure you have no metal in pockets, or your watch on your wrist..I have not done it with the controller in hand as well. Just anything that might interfere with the compass while setting it up.
@HobartsReviews4 жыл бұрын
Yes the picture on the app points it down but I have done it both ways and it's been fine. Same with my other drone and it was either way but good point. Yes you are correct to stay away from metal when doing calibration for sure. Thanks for watching!
@brucewarren95634 жыл бұрын
The picture in both the User Manual and the App manual shows the nose pointed up. The App manual has a red correction where the word "Downward" has been struck out. So I believe the intention is to face the nose upwards. I have had several failures trying to calibrate with the nose down and also rotating around my body. I now always calibrate by rotating just the aircraft and doing the second part with nose upward and it seems to work best.

@@TheChaz81 You can leave the SD card in the aircraft and connect the aircraft to your PC or Mac via the USB port. That is mentioned in the manual. However, what they do not mention is that you also have to turn the aircraft power on. That is how I transfer files from my Canon camera, but I do not have to power the camera on.
@brucewarren95634 жыл бұрын
I should also mention that when connecting the aircraft to my PC, I get warning messages suggesting the card may be unreadable and offering the option of running a correction tool. I chose to not run the tool, in case it corrupted the data. I was able to transfer the files without any problem. Also, 2 drives appeared in Explorer. It took me a while to remember that the second one would be the internal 8GB storage. So connecting the aircraft to a PC or Mac is the only way to transfer files from the internal storage.

Why use the phone at all? All the controls are built into the controller. Also, I completely agree that ludicrous mode is too difficult. On my DJI it’s a switch on the side of the controller and there have been times where I flew out over a golf course to get photos and the winds caught me and I had to use sport mode to gain any ground and RTH. If I have to go into an app I risk losing my drone.

When you stop boat mode, then you have all the work of controlling it rather than just having it follow you, no?
@HobartsReviews4 жыл бұрын
No, boat mode allows you to take off from am unstable surface like a boat. Normally the drone does a check that it's on a flat and stable surface before it will allow you to take off but on a boat that's no possible so they added boat mode to get around that. Tracking is totally separate from boat mode. It should still track you even though you too of from a boat.
