I really like the clarity of this playthrough. Each action taken was described using the game terms making it very informative to get a feel for the flow and rules of the game. Awesome video!

This was fun to watch! I have a hard time watching anything on KZbin for more than 5 or 10 minutes. I usually skip around, but I watched all of this. The best part, for me, was time stamp: 1:22:12 (the proud father moment). I got Andromeda's Edge a few weeks ago and I'm already a huge fan. There is so much about it that checks all of the boxes. Great job!

I love how much deeper and improved this game feels than DoE (It was even possible?). There's so much more stuff to control and shape the flow of the match (not only the rng). Shields, range and targeting are the easiest to notice, but the genius is the costumization system of modules and rewards, that are so well blended. I also love to see all that cycling of cards/modules ( I love dig for combo pieces).

Great video. I've played solo 4 times now and discovered several rules that I've been playing wrong from watching this. Thanks!

Nice. Watched and enjoyed both versions. I really appreciate the players doing a great job narrating their turns in this version. Excellent work!

I have been going back through all of the older videos in preparation for fulfillment day. I keep picking up little bits as I am learning how things work together. This was a master class! I need to watch again and take notes.🚀🚀🚀

I need to take Maximus’s master class also. Just got destroyed in a 2v2 (that we’ll be showing on the channel coming soon). Can’t wait to hear all your stories too Mark!

The ability of the warmonger is to gain 2 energy at the beginning of the battle, but also to lose an energy at the end of the battle (according to the faction at the gamefoundpage). I never see Maximilian discard an energy, although there are battles (35:00 and other) where he has energy left. Are the rules changed, do they play it wrong or do i interpret the rules wrong?
@TheMorlin Жыл бұрын
Noticed that too
@mikevanderveen4092 Жыл бұрын
Good eye! I believe that rule is still in place. Maximus may have had hung on to energy that should have been discarded. It did not happen much since Maximus did not go heavy on battles, but a bit of energy a the right time can have a big impact.

Half hour in this video, the game looks great, complex and satisfying. My only worry at this point is the potential downtime with 3 or 4 players, some of the turns are very long.
@CardboardAlchemy Жыл бұрын
The game is definitely longer with more people firing those engines (30-40 min per player), but it is still really satisfying to get all that interaction coming from all directions to push and pull raiders, have cards interrupt other best laid plans. You have to be focused in 4p and 5p to get the stuff you want to get. :)

Excellent playthrough! I lost terribly to Unity my first play but this video showed me both some strategy and some things I did incorrectly.. I thought you had to pay energy for everything in science after your first ship is placed at the beginning module! Makes it a lot more appealing that you don't unless the module itself requires it of course.
@glennh7357 Жыл бұрын
Excellent playthrough (thank you ) at the turn that starts 16:00 Maximus referred to leaving his transports on the map and while completing the return activated a module that allowed a development action (which used one of the transports still on the map) initially I thought that as you have to return all ship from the map that this was invalid, however, I assume now that you can do the return ship-by-ship as an action or ability can utilise a ship still on the map (mid-turn) so not it is not a good strategy to remove all ships before activating modules.
@CardboardAlchemy Жыл бұрын
Correct - you should activate ships one at a time, (especially because of development and ships in the scrapyard) because order does matter!

Note on the final scoring, seems like being forward on the tracks is a critical factor for scoring not only the tracks themselves but for other areas too. Almost felt like the tracks are the biggest deciding factor in who wins and by how much.
@mikevanderveen4092 Жыл бұрын
Very true. Developments associated with each tradk go up in value. (It it pretty rare to build all 3 of the same Development in a play. That was huge.) And, the Commerce track unlocks the Vault Bonus.

It looks a bit like rebalancings are in order. The Warmongers seemed a bit overpowered with 2 strong abilities and an insane fighter ship. Additionally they automatically make the game harder for other factions because they are able to fight them all the time. I like that they can cycle diplomacy cards (because they are fighters), but it seems too good that they can seek for the better tactics cards this way, which aren't solely for battle but can give big general bonuses.
@CardboardAlchemy Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. It's hard to tell on one play, but the Warmongers do lose plenty, and Darkstar are formidable. It's anyone's game, truly. There are going to be factions better suited to 1p, 2p, 3p, 4p and 5p as well as factions suited for long or short games. Everything from the region layout, event deck you pick, raiders that emerge etc can vary the contest.

Will you add a card to propose faction for 2p, 3p,... so people can already play first games on equal level?

Was curious about what the playtime should be in a 2 player game as our live stream took over 2 hours and we didn't even come close to 50 VP. It's the main reason that Adri didn't enjoy it much as their wasn't goals to obtain more VP and it just ran long. I know we made a few mistakes that were mentioned in a comment, but even those items we missed I appear would have made the game longer. Looking forward to seeing more and hopefully playing the final version.
@KMReviews Жыл бұрын
Your stream did have a ton of errors in gameplay tnough which probly factored into that. Had you two played dwellings of eldervale before? There’s lots of similarities which may have helped you two.
@GettinJiggly Жыл бұрын
@@KMReviews no we haven't. I know somebody commented a few of the errors, however just looking at those I feel the game would have gone longer. Especially since we even had an edge with an extra resource each turn we shouldn't have. I do know a good 30-45min was the overview and gameplay is slowed by explaining as we play.
@KMReviews Жыл бұрын
@@GettinJiggly I found my first game of dwelling of Eldervale took forever. However now that I know it well and people I play with know it, it never takes more than 2 hours for a 4 player game. We have very quick snappy turns. From what I’ve seen, this game has some more rules and complexity, but if you have experience playing it, it’s the same thing, pretty quick. This gameplay wasn’t super long and they obviously scored huge! But they have been with the game for a long time. In my opinion a game like this shines when you have a play to two under your belt and can skip the 30 minute learning process and just play. And okay correctly lol.
@GettinJiggly Жыл бұрын
@@KMReviews oh get that. But think that is one of the benefits of a channel like ours. We provide a true experience of a first gameplay that others might expect. Especially if you haven't played Dwellings, which IMO is important as you shouldn't have to. I do a bit of research watching videos and reading the rules more than once and a you notice mistakes still happen. If you think about it of another person did the same, bought the game, read the rules (which is all they should have to do), made a few mistakes, and then didn't enjoy the game, it would be a similar experience. Think that's why what we offer is valuable for publisher and designer to see where holes might exist and where improvements could be made.
@KMReviews Жыл бұрын
@@GettinJiggly I think that’s a great experience you provide. However, maybe you do this, I’m not sure, but many channels, when they have rules mistakes (it happens) they put in the Klingon subtitles what the mistakes are so people know during the playthrougj what the correct thing to do should have been. But I guess I don’t see other peoples playthroughs having those mistakes for this game. I’m not tryin to knock you, just saying if you wanna offer the true first experience, that’s cool, but also provide the corrected information. That way people don’t have a misrepresented version of the game. Or use your video as a true how to play when they play theirs and they end up doing it incorrectly too. Definitely makes sense to critique the rules ambiguity if you feel there is some, and maybe they can improve the rules.

Could the ghostly presence action generate a battle or a raider incursion? I'm guessing not
@CardboardAlchemy Жыл бұрын
Ghostly presence doesn't trigger anything - your ship is cloaked! In game terms - only a launch can take moons or trigger a raider striker. Any move action or special ability like this faction ability is not the same as that launch action.

This game is dope. I already like Dwellings, this brings it to the theater I much prefer (space/scifi), while adding a bunch interesting elements, rounding down a couple rough edges (pun intended)... I guess I will eagerly wait this next 1.5 years. Hope you will have dual-layer boards and downsize some of the areas, please save our tables. :)

Lovely playthrough but I am lukewarm on the combat. It honestly looks way too simple for me. The cards are nice but it feels like the combat would benefit from a bit more meat on the bone. Everything else feels like it’s been thought through but it feels like the combat got the least attention
