Meet Andy and Amelia! They're two foster kittens with a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). It's not painful but the lack of development of the cerebellum causes difficulty coordinating movement. The foster family reports that Amelia’s CH is VERY mild. She can climb stairs, jump up onto cat trees, and even run around. Her CH is only noticeable when she is focused on something and you can see a head tremor. She’s adorable and very friendly, following you everywhere. She is brave and curious, interested in any open door! She loves to play with little toy mice.
Andy would be considered moderate/severe CH at this point. He can take wobbly steps and does well getting around. He can use a low entry litter box and can eat from a dish by himself (lying down). He gets more stable on his feet every week but still falls when he’s walking. He is active, playful and so lovable - purring constantly. His favourite toys are the cat tunnel, cube and rainbow stick. He is very easy to bathe, trim nails, groom etc. We would like to keep them together.
