So Ashley had to bring their mom upstairs at gunpoint to make a call and remove the limit. After that you have the option to send Ashley out to make another withdrawal and this finally gives Andrew the chance to have the Ashley talk 1 on 1 with his mom and wallflower father.

One of the things that seems so weird is that people are trying to paint Andrew as this innocent victim, when he is honestly just as bad as his sister. His inner thoughts and how he acts most of the time show that, it just is harder to pick up on since Ashley is so upfront about how unhinged she is. To simplify it, Ashley wants to be loved by her brother, but Andrew is IN love with her and trying to hide it from everyone, including himself. The parents are also terrible and do not care for either of their children. The mom most likely just favored her son because he was more like his father while her daughter was more like herself.

This summary does cover *most* things. But it honestly misses the ball on a few very important parts, or outright leaves out some very important things. Number 1 that Andrew has been a Sociopath from a very young age. He’s not concerned with the Morality of his deeds, just the consequences. *He* is the one that proposed the blood oath to Ashley, with the alternative being that he’d kill her if she didn’t accept. This next part is a bit more up for interpretation, but the Mom *did not* love Andrew. He was an “easy” child. And the moment Ashley started to show behavioral problems, both parents went full hands off and made Andrew take care of and raise Ashley himself. Followed that up with a very minorly known fact that Ashley literally views herself as a “Useless” being that nobody would be capable of genuinely liking. She isn’t purely gaslighting Andrew when she says he hates her, she’s just incapable of believing any alternative when her own parents and “friends” didn’t want her. Then there’s the fact that while Ashley is obsessive and certainly open to being “Family with Benefits”, Andrew is actually a giant Siscon. Always playing with her hair, grabbing and touching her with no warning or invitation, positioning her head on his lap whenever she’s unconscious around him, climbing into her bed under the guise of nightmares (which aren’t always real), and asking his Girlfriend to tie her hair up. Also, keep in mind, Julia was best friends with the girl he helped kill, and he saw 0 issue with dating her.

The video kinda misses that Andrew is kind of a sociopath too, he is just alot better at hiding it and pretending to be normal. Andrew is just as bad if not worse than Ashley. He is definitely being manipulated by Ashley, but the crazy thing is that he is self aware of this and chooses to go along with her bullshit anyway because he is obsessed with her and loves her, so he is less of a victim and more of an enabler. He has never actually shown genuine remorse for any of the actions he or Ashley committed only concerned with being caught by the police. also while Ashley is an OBVIOUS yandere who has killed and harassed girls that get near Andrew and is open to being in an incestuous relationship Andrew is revealed to be just as psychotically possessive towards Ashley. in the scene where they kill Nina (box girl) Andrew explains that the reason he is losing his shit about killing the girl isn't because he committed murder but because the police would catch them, and since men and women go to different prisons, he would be separated from Ashley. he straight up says "dont you get it, if we go to prison, they will take you away from me" and is just as possessive to Ashley as she is to him. so they are both sociopathic Yanderes, but Andrew is just more lowkey about it and is so good at gaslighting he gaslights everyone including himself and the audience into thinking he is normal.
@theonlylauri Жыл бұрын
It's complicated. The useless parents offloaded taking care of Ashley on Andrew, so naturally he's protective of her, especially since she doesn't have anyone else. This kind of semi-parental role makes the attraction even more messed up, of course. It's also not surprising that he doesn't use any ethical arguments on her, since she's so amoral and lacks any sense of empathy towards others, but can be made to understand consequences and the risk of losing him. All that said, by the time game starts, Leyley has fed all his worst tendencies to the point where he's thoroughly rotten. Andy may have been a victim, but Andrew is 100% a willing accomplice and enabler. If she makes him do her dirty work, he makes her do his dirty decisions and then blames her for them. If there is a moral difference there, it's between someone who has born bad and one that was made that way. The end result is about equally awful, though.

You misinterpreted a few things and the creator left a lot out. Andrew actually isn’t as much of a puppet as he seems, it’s a major theme of the game that Andrew is a pathological liar and that he is not the same person as he seems. Ashley manipulated him quite well as a child, and she certainly still manipulates him even now, but the thing is, she’s not as good at it as she thinks. One of her biggest manipulations was when she tried to gaslight him into believing that he chose to do everything he did, but what she doesn’t understand is that it’s not manipulation, because Andrew genuinely did choose Ashley over everyone else and doesn’t regret it for a second. It is revealed throughout the game that Andrew lies so naturally that Ashley can’t keep up with him when they talk to their mother, and Andrew has plenty of scenes where he takes a much worse presence than even Ashley. The difference between Andrew and Ashley is this: Andrew was a born a sociopath and monster, but was smart enough to put on a mask and hide who he truly was, Ashley was made a sociopath as a child by her parents and friends treating her like garbage(Andrew raised Ashley and cooked for her, not her actual parents. Her friends only used her to get close to Andrew, and Andrew was the only person to celebrate her birthday, which notably is the reason she became obsessed with him). It’s been confirmed that Ashley sees herself as being worthless and that she hates herself horribly, to the point where she basically idolizes Andrew and puts him on this pedestal as the most important person in her world and an essential part of her life that she can’t live without, so she feels the need to manipulate him to stay around her. She genuinely believes that he doesn’t care about her and that she has to blackmail him for him to stay with her, and so she happily does it with zero remorse. Andrew and Ashley are both tar souls, their souls are viscous pitch black messes that symbolize that despite being victims of circumstances, Andrew and Ashley are pure evil and irredeemable. However Andrew’s soul is still worse than Ashley’s. Ashley’s is just black, but Andrew’s is black with a red cracking pattern that symbolizes something worse underneath it all. For example, it may appear as if he’s sad or that he feels guilty for what happened to Nina, but if you pay close attention, he actually is only afraid of getting caught and only ever talks about his fear of others finding out what happened and finding out that he was involved. It’s a recurring theme that Andrew only cares about being caught, but lies to Ashley about being traumatized and having panic attacks in order to sleep in her bed(yes, he’s incredibly down bad, a lot of people miss that) Andrew actually never cared about his girlfriend, he’s admitted that the thought of him never seeing her again does not bother him in the slightest(he’s more bothered by the fact that it doesn’t bother him). Andrew used his girlfriend Julia to redirect his crush on Ashley because he actually cares about appearing normal, whereas Ashley doesn’t. Andrew is fully content with his actions, not only that but his greatest regret was not executing the warden more slowly for leering at Ashley. A large mistake I always see people making is feeling too bad for Andrew, that’s what he’d want. Andrew is really just as bad as Ashley but is too much of a snake to show it, he’d rather hide his sociopathic nature and yet still Ashley manages to bring it out of him naturallyand make him ditch his facade because he’s now ready to properly live as “Andrew” rather than his easily manipulative childhood persona “Andy” That’s why Ashley said that she doesn’t like “Andrew”. The full context is this dialogue “Andrew: You are the one who doesn’t like me, it’s all about Andy with you. Ashley: You’re right. I really don’t like Andrew. Andrew: Well I’m sorry to hear about that, because Andrew is all that you’ll get.” Ashley likes this much less cold childhood Andrew that she used to know, who she could understand everything he’s thinking and keep her around. Despite “Andrew” being the one who genuinely cares about her and loved her without blackmail, she prefers this facade Andrew used to put up because she felt that she could understand what he was thinking and easily manipulate him to stay around. In the end there are two *major* endings to chapter two: Burial and Decay. In Burial, Andy is gone forever. Ashley trusting Andrew has allowed Andrew to officially become his real self and go wild. He no longer has anything to hide, so he’s upfront about his sociopathy and teases Ashley worse than the other way around. He no longer feigns guilt or breakdowns because he has no need to hide it anymore. Ashley created a monster, but not because she broke Andrew, all she did was allow Andrew to really be himself for once and show the monster that he truly is when he has nothing to hide. In Burial, Andrew even eats the soup with Ashley because Andrew truly has zero morals and ethics. He even teases her about her not doing good enough and the meat being “Drier than her lips a quarter past midnight” this is the one with a certain… ending, involving the two(I got that ending first try lol) In Burial, even Ashley is mostly afraid because she doesn’t know how to keep Andrew around(other than feeding into his crush and sleeping together), but she also has a much more happy time here. In Decay, the ending that was shown here, either Ashley refused to trust Andrew properly or “Andy” decided that he wanted to trust his parents but backed out of it because he felt trapped by his situation. “Andy” lives in Decay and Andrew slowly crumbles under his own facade, leaving this innocent equivalent of Andrew who’s just a pushover and doormat in his place. “Andy” does not achieve happiness like Andrew, “Andy” snaps from the manipulation and puts Ashley on a T-shirt, before joining her because he still cared about her too much.
@fimbul_ Жыл бұрын
I would describe Ashley as a low intelligent psychopath, rather than a sociopath. (Andrew is the contrasting, highly intelligent sociopath). She manipulates people and fells joy by accomplishing it, or simply see them suffer. She even has a superiority complex, hence continuation of the human meat eating. Ashley was a born psychopath, who can't hide it well. The parents didn't want to put any real effort into raising children. The mother had Andrew with 15 and wasn't ready to be a mother. Andrew was easy to raise as a child. He was able to hide his condition and caused fever problems than a normal child would. The mother thought the second one would be as easy, but Ashley turns out to be the opposite and caused problems with her constant manipulations and sadistic pranks. This caused the parents to not raise her at all and let Andrew do the job alone. She had no friends for the same reason. Andrew became Ashley's pet project. He's a loner like herself and sees other people as usable objects. He just does it for the "wrong" reasons in her eyes. I can't really tell if Ashley has real feelings for Andrew/Andy, or if he's just the only malleable tool she has. The continuation of the decay-route will tell.
@bloodbadger5332 Жыл бұрын
I'm not going try to respond to this entire post but I think you have Andrew and Ashley mixed up, Andrew is the psychopath and Ashley is the sociopath and Ashley is the only one confirmed to be a tar soul and they are not pure evil and irredeemable; they are just really messed up people. the only people that they killed that could be called completely innocent were Nina and the lady from room 302 in the game also where is it implied that Ashley's friends only used her to get to Andrew?
@traehignight Жыл бұрын
@@bloodbadger5332 Andrew is literally confirmed to be a tar soul in chapter 2 in the Burial route if you get the “Sane” ending, Ashley sees his soul and it is tar colored with creepy red lines running through it like burning charcoal. As for Ashley’s friends using her, it was very clear that Nina wasn’t actually friends with Ashley and was just trying to get to Andrew(as were her other friends) because it was revealed that Ashley’s “friends” refused to celebrate her birthday and made up excuses. And no, Andrew is 100% a sociopath, the game allows you to see his thoughts multiple times and they make it quite clear that no matter what he does, he feels zero guilt and instead justifies his actions with logical rationalizations and that the closest thing to regretting his actions was regret for not drawing it out enough. These are things that are very important in the game to understanding Andrew’s character, as well as that of Ashley.
@traehignight Жыл бұрын
@@fimbul_ Andrew was good and Ashley was “bad”, but it’s actually more complicated than that. Andrew as a child was trying *too* hard to cover up his sociopathic personality, he was essentially acting so well that it was abnormal, meanwhile from what we are shown, Ashley was completely normal for all intents and purposes up till her birthday. If you get the lemon muffin flashback to Ashley’s birthday, they make it quite clear that Ashley was normal but waa neglected and mistreated by her friends, family, and teacher until she grew overly close to Andrew and formed an unhealthy obsession and over reliance because he was the only one who cared enough to celebrate it with her. When watching, you can even see the exact frame that she develops this obsession which is my favorite part. TL;DR, Ashley was actually completely normal as a child. Andrew was so perfect because he was trying extra hard to act normal, meanwhile Ashley wasn’t born horrible, but ended up becoming this way as a result of neglect and a degree of isolation from everyone else that led her to become obsessed with and idolize the one person who didn’t neglect her.
@fimbul_ Жыл бұрын
@@traehignight I agree, that Andrew does his best to hide his sociopathic personality. He was never a good person. He only needed an enabler. Ashley is just the worst case in this scenario. (He could have been a great Japanese businessman. Such a shame) I also agree, that Ashley developed her obsession with Andrew, due to neglect and him being the only one who stays at her side. The only part I have to disagree is that Ashley was born without the psychopathic behavior and only became the person she is in the game, though neglect. I stand by my point, that family and "friends" avoided contact with her, due to her underlying psychopathic behavior at an early age. The false friends were more likely never real friends to begin with. These were kids trying to become friends with her, and/or Ashley with them, but it never developed into a real friendship. Ashley never really sees herself completely at fault and blames others for their "betrayal". The parents are fully to blame on their part in the case of neglection. They were young, but they never grow up to their responsibilities. Feel free to disagree.

This video and part 1 skip over a huge moment, but when Andrew strangles Ashley (the first time) it’s actually very powerful. At this point Ashley has a gun but she doesn’t fight against him. She finds peace dying at his hand… but he lets go because. In my opinion. Killing her is something he can’t blame on her… Andrew is the one who enables Ashley to do what she does in the first place. Oh yea and he keeps telling her she's not pretty/attractive, which ends up triggering her insecurity about being useless (courtesy of her shitty parents who never bothered to care for her), so that she wont reciprocate when someone finds her attractive and will end up being always beside him. I am one of those people. In roughly chronological order, Andrew: - helped his little sister lock one of her friends in a box overnight. - finding out he killed her, didn’t lament the loss of her life, only the likelyhood of getting caught. Then hid her body. - coerced his sister into a blood oath of silence under the threat of killing her. - decided to date the best friend of the girl he helped kill. - willfully ignored the death threats and harassment his sister had been giving said girlfriend then used the murder *they* committed to justify Ashley’s bad behavior. - committed cannibalism (in dire circumstances) - killed the Warden with 0 hesitation or remorse. (this one’s pretty justified, Malcom was a piece of shit) - killed the woman in 302 in unknown, but suspect, circumstances. (Letting her go doesn’t track with his typical paranoia, but he also doesn’t seem the type to try and get his rocks off in a circumstance like that) - (optionally) insists upon a demon summoning near the Motel, wanting to offer one of the cultists as a sacrifice. - will go along with sacrificing his parents regardless of which route you pick as a player. - will participate in voluntary cannibalism of his parents in the Burial Route. All while having one of the most prolific Sister Complexes I’ve ever seen.

Yeah the parents are a real piece of work that you kinda actually see how their kids ended up the way they did. Also I've seen some analysis videos that actually go over some points how their mother in a lot of ways is just a better adjusted Ashley and their father is a much more submissive version of his son. Kinda showing how their traits got passed onto their kids.

I’d like to point out that Andrew is no victim. He’s always wanted Ashley in that way, and he never really cared about anyone else truly. He goes along with her manipulation because it’s what he likes yet he’s not comfortable admitting to himself. Earlier on in the game it says that Andrew lies a lot about his bad dreams and nightmares just so he could sleep with Ashley. Andrew would have gone with what ever Ashley wanted whether or not she manipulated him In the first chapter you learn Ashley is messed up, in the second chapter you learn Andrew is messed up.

I dont get it why this game got so much hate. Its a sick story ment to be sick, If it was a movie it will be categorize as a horror/thriller. No one whit a sane mindset will not try to justify the actions of the protagonist, as we should. We can understand why they beawe like this, but we can close an eye on the action they do in response to the events they lived. So the hate this game and the author received is compleatly wrong.
