Speaking of the yoga mat/gorilla tape on the tail. I see skating as more of an art than a sport, who's going to tell an artist what kind of medium one can or cannot use to complete their vision. Whoever sees skating as just a sport, yeah, there are certain rules one must adhere to. But skating evolved from that rule driven activity when it went into the street. Then it became art.

I fully appreciate Andy’s originality, skill and positive vibes. Dude is pushing the envelope for sure, but this is not in the SOTY conversation in any way shape or form. There’s a lot of jaw-dropping stuff in there but it’s just too circus and not aesthetically pleasing. Watch some of the other videos on the top of their list, especially Blake Carpenter…

Foys part was amazing no question, but I really think he shoulda been knocked down a place or two at this point. All the tricks were insane, but it was under 20 clips. Barely a part if not spread out by broll and hijinx. And I understand the quality over quantity argument, but the others have serious quality as well, plus a lot more footage. I'd personally put Andy, Hoban, and Decenzo over him (atm)

My personal opinion, next episode when you revisit the SOTY board, talk Andys part first and put him on the board, as you know hes going on it somewhere, then talk about the others. I don't understand why the people are upset about adding the grip thing. I've always seen it as a progression, each spot someone goes to and does something will then inspire other people to go there and do crazier and crazier tricks. Isn't how it's always been? Peoples uniqueness should be celebrated, if Mullen and many others over the years didn't do their own thing we would just be going around in circles.
