I don’t get why people think Alex Vincent isn’t a good actor. To me he really sells it being a young adult who had a very traumatized childhood dealing with a killer doll he got for his 6th birthday that kept coming back to life every time he died. He’s told his story to the police every single time but nobody ever believed him no matter how many times he told them. So him being a monotone loner who’s armed to the teeth seems fitting for him because he’s given up hope on trying to move forward with his life because he developed a reputation. Just a quick google search of him will bring up the 1988 murders where he blamed a Good Guy doll. So that’s why his only “friend” is Chucky because everyone else thinks he’s just a ridiculous lunatic who would rather blame a doll for murders. So Chucky being all that he’s got makes a ton of sense and you can tell that just by his face alone that Andy HATES this, but he doesn’t have a choice. He has to live with the fact that he’s no longer just a normal guy anymore. He’ll forever be the boy who blamed a doll for gruesome murders. So again the “monotone” voice he’s using could be a sign of him giving up hope on having a normal life all because of what he experienced as a child. To me: Alex Vincent, who also played him in the original and the 2nd film, sold this performance perfectly.
