One of the most beautiful set of chords ever, it could loop non-stop and I'd be eternally happy! A song over 30 years old still sounds amazing!😍🙌

He wrote this song when he was 19 years old. Unreal.

"and I've just noticed that the third finger stays where it is the whole time..." says the man who has played this beautiful song thousands of times.

His voice is still perfect and young, a warm for the soul gives you the impression that time has not passed.

There's a pattern: musicians that learned to play by ear use to invent their own chords. Notice that he has to recall the finger positions by playing - and that's beautiful.

OK....twenty years of playing this and NOW he shows me that at 4:56 he stretches his spidey pinky OVER his ring finger to play the B chord, thereby leaving the ring finger in the same position throughout the sequence. It makes it smoother to play but I need to re-program my brain and hand.😆
@stereovaritone4 ай бұрын
Great point. It sustains the ring if you leave the 3rd finger down as he does. Tough to master on a rick 12 I wound imagine but hardly as tough as say the intro to Mr brightside
