Exciting and very beautiful song, loved it since the first time I heard it. Going to watch them play so many years after in Utrecht early next year 👍👊💪

I always say that... he may nasalize his voice too much or sing half an octave lower than he used to when he was younger but he never sings out of tune... never ever. Pitch perfect.

Tambo and riff at start is biblical.so underrated but what a tune” I met my maker,I made him cry” look into the wall of my minds eye” some of the best lyrics ever.best band ever.🙏👊🏻🇬🇧💙🚀🎸

What I read was he layered the sound in the studio. It's the 80's antithesis to Led Zeppelin. Led toured. Smith's didn't. Led Albums. Smith's singles. But Marr and Paige both did their studio sound and live sound differently. Mostly down to technology. Poor Jimmy had to use that bloody awful beast with two necks. Fin.

There's a pattern: musicians that learned to play by ear use to invent their own chords. Notice that he has to recall the finger positions by playing - and that's beautiful.

OK....twenty years of playing this and NOW he shows me that at 4:56 he stretches his spidey pinky OVER his ring finger to play the B chord, thereby leaving the ring finger in the same position throughout the sequence. It makes it smoother to play but I need to re-program my brain and hand.😆
@stereovaritone4 ай бұрын
Great point. It sustains the ring if you leave the 3rd finger down as he does. Tough to master on a rick 12 I wound imagine but hardly as tough as say the intro to Mr brightside
