In 1981 my late husband sold motorcycles at a Kawasaki dealership in Ft. Lauderdale FL, one Saturday in walked Barry Gibb and 2 others......low and behold he asked to rent a motorcycle for the day. The owner made an exception, and did him one better, he gave him a motorcycle to ride for free and asked that when they return he take a few pictures that he could keep on the showroom floor. Back then wearing a helmet was mandatory in Florida and Mr. Gibb said to my husband that he liked the anonymity riding a bike provided because nobody could ID him with the helmet on. My husband offered to give him an unofficial "tour" of the Ft. Lauderdale strip, and show him around a little.....Mr. Gibb took him up on it and the next thing my husband knew, he was riding his bike right along side him for the next 4 or 5 hours. When the "tour" was over and they all returned, Mr. Gibb kept his promise and gave out autographs and took photos with the staff of the dealership and the lucky customers that happened to be in there shopping for motorcycles. I believe Mr. Gibb offered to pay for the "rental" but his boss refused his money....I think it was 500 bucks or more, which in '81 was quite substantial. My husband told me he thought it was going to be just another Saturday work day......wow he was wrong and my husband would tell that story to anyone that would listen. My husband passed in 2012 and now I'm telling this story. :)

I just watched them performing “Immortality” with Celine Dion. I was amazed at how beautifully all 4 of them sang this incredible song. I was blown away to learn that this song was written in 3.5 minutes. “New York Mining Disaster” took only 30 minutes. “I Just Want To Be Your Everything” for Andy to record took 20 minutes. I could go on and on about their amazing songwriting. I adore them ❤️

Clearly, they had a certain formula that they implemented. Well, it works for me, luv all those hits and virtually all of their other ones too.
@simonsmatthew6 ай бұрын
True but I think there were others involved that were not co-credited. In particular their music of that time (1975-82) showed a command of harmony and counterpoint that suddenly ended as dramatically as it arose. That would suggest Blu Weaver, a keyboardist and classical music theory major during that very time was heavily involved. There is a video of him composing How Deep is Your Love on youtube.Unfortunately uncredited session musicians are a common phenomenon in the industry.

They don't make them like this anymore, Andy was awesome, everything about him, I remember my older sister had his album, all the girls were in love with him, his life tragically cut short because his heart couldnt take the coke use anymore.. I don't think Andy intended to grow old and grey, if you notice each time he is asked about what he wants to do by time he's 50, he shrugs off or reluctant to answer, he was a star, he had made it, and he had to live with everything that comes along with that, including the stress.. I will never forget the late 70s and early 80s and pretending he was my boyfriend, listening to his hits, Rest easy, Andy!

He was such a handsome young man and very talented. It is sad that he couldn't find someone to love him for himself and not because he was well known. I remember him saying that on a talk show. I know his drug addiction messed him up too. What a waste of an attractive and talented person. RIP Andy Gibb. 😢

I am Michael Miller and I arranged, rehearsed and recorded every solo and duet performance with Andy.
