'Pulse' is a departure from Andy’s solo acoustic guitar compositions. ‘Pulse’ was composed and performed on keyboards. Andy wanted to create this new musical landscape for a few different reasons. "I wanted to release some music that wasn’t too complicated in its’ approach, something that wasn’t too demanding on the listener. I wanted to offer something instantly accessible," says McKee. "I also wanted to push myself as an artist to see what I could create that didn’t involve a guitar. When you stick with one instrument you may find yourself making similar moves, and using a keyboard made me think differently which made me create music that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. I really felt it was important to create music that could help take stress away. We are living in some difficult and unclear times. Many people, including myself, could use something to help calm ourselves. This music aims to do that."
For the song “Clarity” McKee said, “Clarity is about finding balance in life and moving forward with a sense of calm about whatever we encounter. When we are thinking this way, we are stronger than our emotions and we can make the right decisions.

I saw when this launched in my subs, but i'm glad i waited until just now. depression was starting to take over my day, and i was almost back in my "Zone out watching videos and ignore my emotions" rut, but i decided to watch this one first and it helped more than you might ever know, Mr. Mckee. Your music has helped me so much through the years, and if for nothing less than that, you always were and will be one of my favorite musicians of all time. So thank you, Andy. the friend i (kinda met at a meet n greet in denver but only briefly) never met.
