For anyone struggling with an addiction to pornography and masturbation, when I first heard this song I was where you are now but I cried and screamed silently at the weight of my sins and the fact that Jesus was always ready to wash it away. Today I (still) cry and scream when I hear this song, only now it's because I remember the weight of my sins and the fact that Jesus washed my sins them away and saved me. And he's still washing me today, making me more and more like him every day, as I behold him like in a mirror. I now talk boldly of my struggles to anyone that would listen - it's my salvation story. Know this, no matter how deep you may be in it his blood can make you clean and his power can save you - all you need to do is trust him and lay it at his feet.

This is tough to say but, I was younger than 13 when I was first caught watching pornography. Im 16 now and still dealing with the struggles and temptations that are attached to it. I recently have been convicted in my heart about it to stop watching it. I grew up in a bad public school and was introduced to it way to early and its been a journey. Its caused me shame, embarrassment, and pain. You have heard all your life the effects of pornography and how you should turn away from it, and they are true. Repent from it because Jesus washes away all of your sin. Fight the good fight brothers and sisters. Also, thank you Andy for a wonderful and powerful song. God bless.

The enemy is a coward he does not have his own weapons we Supply him with weapons and those weapons are fear doubt anxiety stress depression you name it and he always through all of those at me to get me to run away from my problems with pornography but no more not today Satan because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Philippians 4:13

Yo brothers, there's hope, but y'all need a solid supply of fear of the Lord. 1 orgasm is all it takes to turn a man from God. Think about it, those of you who fell off the path; what else was happening back then? That first climax is powerful and not to be underestimated. Look at how sexualized and unholy everything seems to be these days. It's the enemy, and he's doing some serious overtime. He wants you fapping, drinking, sexing, porning, clubbing, falling & cheating. He wants to torture you even more in hell. He wants you to feel low and defiled

This is Andy’s greatest song in my opinion. The raw and vulnerable lyrics of the verse are relatable and I’ve definitely laid in my bed alone with God beating myself up about all the shame of my sin. As I was listening to the verses, I could hear the struggle and it’s comforting to hear words that put emotions into song because I don’t have that ability like Andy. The part that hits the hardest is that bridge though. “Jesus washes away all of my sin, He washes away all my sin” repeating chips away layers of a heart calloused from shame. I love how Andy chose to use that line over and over as the Name of Jesus and the price He paid for me on the cross is pounding in my eardrums reminding me that He’s washed all of my sin and shame away and I don’t need to live in those things anymore. Then that choir comes in rejoicing and the horns sound in celebration of that truth! Ugh, I love this track and think it’s genius how thoughtfully orchestrated this is. Thank you for music like this and thank you Jesus for giving guys like Andy the talent and heart to give what he has of himself to show the realness of faith and doubt, joys and shame. The Christian life is about us not being enough, but Jesus is! So failure is something we no longer need to fear because we’ve been made into royalty by the blood of Jesus!

'Cause I'm 'bout to hate who I am 'Cause I'm 'bout to hate who I am [Verse 1: Andy Mineo] I chase the moment that when I had it I felt alive But now that the thrill is gone, I feel dead inside I feel like everyone know the secrets I wanna hide And everytime they ask me how I'm doing, I just say "I'm fine" Too embarrassed to share it or maybe too much pride I create my own prison, holding the keys inside Punishing myself for all of these crimes And I'm trying to convince God that I'm not a waste of His time What's wrong with me? Am I defective? I keep on making a mess Why can't I ever get it together? Soon people gon' find out I'm not what they expected They see who I really am then I end up rejected I try to stand tall, but these knees are collapsing 'Stead of asking for help these apps'll distract me So lonely, but so many people a friend of me While I post, I hope one day to be happy as I pretend to be [Chorus: Josh Garrels] You fly in circles around my head While I sit on the edge of my bed I cry, oh, what have I done again? 'Cause I'm 'bout to hate who I am 'Cause I'm 'bout to hate who I am [Verse 2: Andy Mineo] Uh, I was thirteen the first time my momma caught me watching porn She started screaming, she couldn't believe her last born Was dabbling in something so destructive I wish I could have said it was my last time, but nah, it wasn't And the more I thought about it, the more I got bothered These women I'm objectifying are somebody's daughters I really never thought I had a problem till it followed me to college And I felt debilitated by it's bondage, uh Became a Christian, heard about God's power Couldn't see it in my life, but I could tell you all about it Overloaded with knowledge, making so little progress Became a public figure, but my struggles were in private Only started tasting freedom when I'm being honest And I learn that when I am weak is when I'm seeing God the strongest I know some people gon' be quick to throw stones But I'll take all of those hits to know that you not alone And after 28 years of life, I decided Everybody's crooked, some just have a better job of hiding it Oh, how good does freedom taste I hope they gon' give me the forgiveness they gon' need one day I pray [Bridge: Josh Garrels] Jesus, He washes away of all my sin Washes away all my sin Jesus washes away all of my sin Jesus, He washes away of all my sin Washes away all my sin Jesus washes away all of my sin Jesus, He washes away of all my sin Washes away all my sin Jesus washes away all of my sin Jesus, He washes away of all my sin Washes away all my sin Jesus washes away all of my sin Jesus, He washes away of all my sin Washes away all my sin Jesus washes away all of my sin Jesus, He washes away of all my sin Washes away all my sin Jesus washes away all of my sin [Refrain: Choir & Andy Mineo] Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh He washes away all of my sin (oh) He washes away all of my sin (oh) He washes away all of my sin (oh) He washes away all of my sin (oh) He washes away all of my sin (oh) He washes away all of my sin (oh) He washes away all of my sin (oh) He washes away all of my sin (oh) Oh, oh, oh

Last year this song played on my phone when I was driving home feeling grieved over a sin I committed over a year ago. It was a sunny summer's day but when the song got to the 2:47 mark it started drizzling and crept into a heavy downpour when it hit the 4:01 mark. The rain was timed so well with the song I started to smile and it even stopped abruptly when the song ended. At that point, I knew God was trying to tell me to let go and that he had already forgiven me.

I don't generally like rap but I heard this at a music festival for the first time and I broke down crying, not realizing just how much I connected with this song. By the time the bridge came along I finally understood freedom. This song is amazing.

I saw Andy mineo at this past winter jam and this song made me cry. I went with my church, but I never really felt compelled by Christianity. This song helped me so much. I’m suicidal and depressed and I need something to lean back on. I don’t consider myself Christian, but I’m getting more invested in it because it feels so good to have someone to fall back on, but I’m still unsure because everything I thought I had just left. Can anyone help me with this? Stay strong y’all!!!

It's ridiculous how underratted and spiritually RELATABLE this BANGER is! I needed this, thank you Lord! Hallelujah! I'm currently dealing with anxiety which has manifested itself into dejection for the past three or so months. That and self-doubt and self-deprecation. I sometimes even wonder why God bothered to save me, bc I feel like I never cease to let him down or be useless. But when I heard this---wow, the reminder that God's got my back is pushing me forward. I'm still struggling in many ways, but I know that this life isn't it. I'll be in heaven w/ my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for eternity after! This is true hope and joy that I'd never have experienced had I not believed God. Please keep me in your prayers, fellow bros and sisters in Christ...

Repentance is the moral of the story. Thank you Andy Mineo for being vunerable. I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:7 NIV

I love Andy’s transparency. Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. (Proverbs 28:13 NIV) we need to stop acting like we’re perfect and have it all together. There is freedom in confessing, and saying look I’m dealing with this. I need help. God help me.

This song lead me to the sweet taste of freedom from God, crying my heart out. To recognize just how beautiful Christ is, so Loving. Deeply forgiving to sins we feel and know are unpardonable. Hallelujah 🙌🏾 Praise God for the Son. Praise Christ! This is why we live by faith in him, cos he loved us first to forgive us. Giving himself Galatians 2:20. And we are saved, the awesome, heavenly feeling of getting to live another day by the grace And Love of God to be with him is unmatching. His lyric about hoping they’ll forgives us for the same they gon need one day is sooo powerful. Could we ever do what Christ did for us? Die for our neighbors? Forgive their unpardonable sin like Christ did for us? The beauty of His life following God’s perfect law is why we live. Crucifying ourself unto him and forgiving our neighbors, showing compassion and mercy to them, truth around our necks in our faith for Him. Building our life of His foundation, strong as a bedrock on the mountainside. Experiencing that beauty and truth in our walk is the Gospel. Truly living like Christ in love and obedience for God, my everything. Where my trust and loyalty can flow-my faith from my love for Him. Thanks Andy, bringing another step closer to my Savior, and seeing his worthiness and why he is Lord. Thank you ❤️

It takes REAL guts to talk about the struggles that many go through, in hopes that too many stones won't come your way in the midst, but willing to take it, if necessary to help yourself or others. ALL of us have SIN but the difference IS when we "are in Christ," HE DOES WASH US CLEAN in His Salvation within all he "already did on the cross." STAY CONNECTED To the ONE TRUE GOD & You WILL Make it! Thanks Andy for sharing, this hits home, as we also lost my dear brother recently, who apparently was not able to be as transparent in casting his cares unto the Lord (with other factors involved with others affecting his life as well). Hopefully, those still living, will catch these many lessons and make that change.

My private Christian university recently adopted the slogan "Stand Tall" which most of us students really don't think accurately represents our community.
