Andy Ruiz Jr and Jarrell Miller are scheduled to square off on August 3, 2024. For Ruiz, this will only be his third fight since losing his unified heavyweight championship in his rematch against Anthony Joshua way back in December 2019. By the time this fight happens it will have been almost 2 full years since Ruiz last fought, when he won a unanimous decision against Luis Ortiz in September 2022. Will Andy Ruiz Jr be able to get his career back on track with a triumphant return against Jarrell Miller?

@@recodegamesstudio He beat Ortiz and I'm sure he can beat 99.9% of heavyweights right now. I still think he has it and the slight weight loss will help. Fighters like Ruiz and Fury don't deserve to be champions. They lack the discipline needed to achieve or maintain the championship and everything that comes with it. They falter when things don't go their way and get overly excited when they taste victory. Champions like them don't honor rematches, don't train properly, don't respect their fans' feelings, and don't like defending their titles.

Ruiz has it. This fight is almost tailor made for Ruiz. Miller is fighting this fight for one last good purse. Ruiz is fighting this fight to add another name to the list of vanquished, to show he's still relevant. Ruiz's counter boxing style is kryptonite to Miller's style, that being more like a slow lumbering juggernaught. He won't be able to push Andy on the back foot much. Miller, fighting, when not coming forward.... just isn't very good. Andy is going to give Miller a very bad ass whooping.

The (lost generation of heavyweight"s) from the 1980' were notable cause all of them had talent but fucked it up some how. Usually drugs or addiction if some kind. Take your pick. Key is they had it & fucked it up . This generation of 2014 til now. Have been the biggest pile of shit yet and that's saying something. The only fighter that stands out in any way is Uysk. Consitant, well rounded skill, Always in shape. All the others have been a parade of bland lazy fuckups parlaying a few specific nitches into a bare minimum of success. The standing rule is. Every 5 years the Heavyweight division gets worst. Without pause or fail. It's been this for a long time. An like always it's going to get worst. Count on that.

I was rooting for Ruiz, he was a good counter puncher with fast hands and quick combinations. Truly a recipe of a real champion. Sadly the man just wasn't hungry anymore after beating AJ the first time around. Hungry for food yes, but not for the championship. He slacked in training and just trying to look for a big payday. Trying to get a run back against AJ but he lost his relevant to remain as a top contender. Love the guy and hope he does make a great comeback. But truth be told his chances are low with the way he is.

Although he has another opportunity, but like most fighters nowadays they don't fight often enough and waste their skills away. If you notice great fighters, will stay busy, fighting non-title fights, exhibition fight, or tune-up fights. One good thing is fighters nowadays make decent purses which is well deserved.

Good, Rummy picking Ruiz as expected. Miller will win as expected. Went the distance with Dubois (they stopped the fight a few seconds before the end, he would have lasted) and that aged incredibly well considering what Dubois did to Hrgovic next. Miller vs Dubois was a war, Dubois vs Hrgovic was a one sided battering. As for Ruiz he went the Buster Douglas route, and has looked terrible since the Joshua win. Doubt a good version of Ruiz will show up.

The only things Ruiz has going for him is that Wilder is finished, Fury has been dethroned, and Zhang and Usyk realistically only have a few years left. He can try to position himself into getting a huge payday for a 3rd fight with AJ or he can fight a lot of the other guys who aren’t quite on his level yet like Ajagba, Sanchez or Torres Jr. Ruiz is kind of like Fury in the sense that they don’t have granite chins (because they have been dropped) BUT they have insane recovery time. As far as motivation though I don’t really know what to think of Ruiz anymore. Had one career defining performance and then struggled to look the same sense.

Crazy to think that this'll be his 5th fight in 5 years 19: AJ 1 and 2 20: - 21: Arreola 22: Ortiz 23: - 24: Miller Lockdowns really appear to have had a big part to play in reducing fighther activity. Looking at fights from 2016 through up to 2020, and then 2020-2024 (including plans one later this year), Joshua, Wilder, Usyk, Whyte, Paker and Ruiz averaged 2.4 fights a year pre-lockdown compared to 1.2 (rounded up/down, respectively) fights per year post-lockdowns. Works out an average of fighting 52% as often afterwards. Did it just happen to coincide with points i their career where things naturally slowed down? I dunno, since aside frmo Whyte and Parker most guys were fighting 2x a year pre-lockdown anyways. I think it may just be that promoters weren't able to pay what fighters expected post-lockdown and it meant that fights basically ground to a halt.

Andy Ruiz Jr. proved he was a HW beast against Anthony Joshua back in June 1, 2019 = 5 YEARS AGO! The rematch with Joshua proved that money, food and fame had gotten thick to his head and stood no chanse of Joshua's out-classing boxing session. Since then, Ruiz Jr. have shown more interest in luxurious stuff and sports cars than being a professional champion level boxer. He have been offered several good fights, even a IBF World HW elimination contest, but just declined them all, either bu "want more money" or "I'm not interested". How he have WASTED away his very prime years out of the ring. The bottom line is; Andy Ruiz Jr. will never become a recognized World HW Champion again. Not because he doesn't have the talent, but it's because he lacks work rthics and the hunger it takes to become and stay a Champion. He could have been a great fighter and a great champion, but he threw it all away. Still, if he can win over Miller, and some 2 other ranked HW contenders, I would welcome him against Oleksandr Usyk! Usyk wants champions and if Ruiz Jr. can earn that back, then I would like see this happen.

I kind of respect him, he made some decent money and then didnt really give a fuck. He's a fighter who fights because he's good at it, not because he has it in his heart and has 'bad intentions'. Not everyone is looking to be the champion or the baddest man on the planet. Maybe he just wants a good life for himself and family

There is a narrative out there suggesting hes only been inactive because people avoid him. Really doesn't add up when you look at his last 3 fights

This is a step backwards for Ruiz. He should be fighting a better fighter, but instead he is fighting a fighter coming off a bad loss. Come on!

It’s funny how people forget that the fight that started of these big Saudis events was Anthony vs Ruiz 2, clash on the the dunes!

Before AJ 1 he was consistently active and playing catch up with the likes of Miller is sad to say the least...inactivity is Ruiz's kryptonite and to get anywhere he needs at least 2 fights a year , 3 would be better and show that he's serious otherwise he's just topping up the bank account IMHO.

I was so angry at the way Ruiz threw away his Champions belts for what? Snickers bars? I say this as a Brit who is firmly in the AJ camp. Ruiz didn't even turn up

He should either sh*t or get off the pot!!! Seems like he lost his focus after the first AJ fight, which is understandable. I'm sure we'd all get comfortable with life changing money... Great upload Rummy, many thanks and greetings from the UK 🙏🇬🇧🥊😉

Same as happened to Fury after beating Klitschko. Fat blokes liking the food, money and status. Fury dragged himself back, for a while, can Ruiz do the same? Nah...

Ruiz is the Tony Tubbs of this generation. Had skill, talent, but ate himself out of contention.
