You were on the right track but the difference is illness is defined as disease or period of sickness of body and mind period is the key word it's temporary sometimes curable it develops at exposure unlike developmental disorders which you are born with and last your entire lifetime and have no cure but do have treatments that help

I think you and me might have the same sleep issues Kev. I took a little while to get used to my weighted blanket. But it has helped my sleep and my flailing around too. I have to have my bed pushed against the corner of my room to wall me in on the top and side and then sleep diagonally or I will fall out of bed in my restlessness.

I too had issues with the cost of weighted blankets. But i found mine on sale on the internet. It doesnt have a fancy cover and the weights are in larger sized pockets so do move. But i just give it a kind of shake each night before i get into bed. If i made my bed each morning the shaking would happen then.

Evening kev. I am a mythical beast and I always try to be my mythical best. The other day I looked in the sale at getting my dogs a GMM collar but with the postage it was to expensive. I really want a weighted blanket cos I think I would benefit from 1 but sadly I’m yet to find 1 that is affordable. They all cost far to much(£99.99) I’m glad you have benefited from 1. £99.99 isn’t affordable for me. So sadly My hunt for an affordable weighted blanket continues. My ASD and all of my other medical conditions are my super powers. As much as it can be stressful there isn’t a chance I would take away cos we’re as they don’t “define” who I am they have helped to build me into the adult I have become. And they will continue to teach me through my life. It’s wot makes me unique 💙💜

I agree I wouldn't class autism has a mental illness I would say it's more a personality disorder and it is part of who they are I wouldn't change my son for the world just because autistic and adhd are different doesn't make them ill and even if there was a cure I wouldn't use it on my son I love him the way he is... And I think Andy is awesome

I'm in no way telling u what to do or anything like that. It's just with Dave's collar do you make sure it is loose enough that if he needed to the collar would come off only because if someone was to try and steal dave he would be able to get able by getting out of the collar.
