I think you’re right about leaving school off the schedule planner, it’s quite a big segment that he doesn’t have to see isn’t it. I hope he has a great trip, I know when my son went on a week residential trip to Isle of Wight, the contingency plans were like a movie lol. He was in a powerchair, so we had to have a plan in place if he needed to be brought back to a London hospital as a an emergency and this entailed a teacher having a boat on standby. Honestly unless you have a kid with special needs, no one can understand truly that our mundane routines are actually really specific and set to keep the calm lol

When I went on my residential trip, I couldn't have a shower as it was a shared room and my anxiety and body issues just overruled the need of a wash, so I ended up using a flannel and soapy water, so I think its more common than it may sound ^^ I hope it all goes okay for him, it'll definitely be a good/educational experience no matter what happens

I certainly hope Andy is going to have a great time. I think you folks don't have to worry to much about Andy's safety, I assume these teachers know him aswell. Having said that, telling someone not to worry about their kids, is easy. What if this involves your own kids? Wouldn't you be a little worried? You lie when you say you wouldn't! To Andy, have a great time and I hope you'll get back with a book full of stories to tell us.

If ever you need to or anyone else in the comments have eloping issuers you can buy door alarms from Poundland I always pack one and use the no damage sticky squares to put them on the door (I always mention to hotels first and never had an issue they just say as long as there is no damage)

Why are people commenting saying Kev should let Andy go? He never said Andy wasn't going and at the end of the day they are Andys parents and have the say .
