I really hope Seth never goes back to having an audience, he looks so much more comfortable now, and I think he's just gotten better overall. Audience laughter is fine, but the limited occasional laughter from the staff and crew is so much better and punchy, usually cause they'll only laugh at the good jokes, or some inside joke which then makes the viewer kind of feel like they're part of the crew too. I love it.

@@julieortega5255 same. Colbert gets so much energy from the audience and I love that for him but the fucking cackling and clapping over jokes was too much. I miss Evie! But it's fine I just watch interviews and performances I like! Seth seems to have just bloomed without the audience

On one hand I'm with you, but on the other, I'm curious how the show changing will affect the audience. Like will the show attract different people? Will the new sense of humor land? And if not, will they just do what they want anyway? I'm really curious how it's going to pan out, even if it is a disaster. In the end, I feel like Seth has grown a lot as a host during this time, so I think audience or not, he'll make it his own

I started watching it bc I thought the show finished but I am so glad that I started and am able to enjoy the 8th season in real time. I started watching Brooklyn 99 during the beginning of the pandemic. It was a good relief from all the other crap going on. I didn't hate the first episode of season 8 but I didn't really like it. I appreciate they considered that you can't have a cop show without addressing the issues with cops. But I watch this show (and Superstore, The Good Place, Parks and Rec, The Office, and Schitt's Creek) to decompress and escape reality. I hope episode 2 is less serious.

i hopw you liked episode 2 better. i understand they need to address it, but i think making jake the bad guy and Rosa so judging of him wasn't the best move. i don't think after so many seasons of them being together and squad growing from colleagues to close friends and even family, then have them separating wasn't such a great resolution. i wish at least we got little more heart to heart between them and them calling more of a truce and trying to understand both sides, both cops who wanted to leave and cops who wants to stay to change things from the inside. i hope they won't make Jake leave tho, cause it was his dream since he was a kid and that would be just too much
