I find this speech more intellectually engaging than others, to be honest. Samberg didn't regurgitate cliches on success, nor did he produce any cheesy ones of his own. He was able to chastise the educational system; specifically Harvard, while not receiving any backlash for it. The wit and comedy of this speech definitely deserved more applause from that very tough crowd!

There are only about 10 colleges in the country that have HD Broadcast/film programs. Harvard isn't known for their communications department, so I'm not surprised that their video is still low quality.

I have a feeling that, if you asked Samberg himself, he would answer something along the lines of : "Well, there is this movie about a guy called Benjamin Button, ever heard of it ?"
@antonnurwald57002 жыл бұрын
Everybody's going on about how half the audience hated it, but honestly: I watched a bunch of Harvard commencement speeches, and apparently it's a thing to bring on comedians and actors at Harvard. Andy's speech is one of the more intellectual ones. If you don't want a graduation speech by a TV celebrity, don't send your kid to Harvard.

Because that's how you properly run things to become successful. When you need to purchase cameras you buy the cheapest ones that are presentable, pretend you paid 50x as much for them, and embezzle the extra funds.

This got me thinking though. Neil died because of the depression he suffered from being unable to pursue what he really wanted in life just because his father did not approve of his love for art and the theater. It was part of his message for the graduates to pursue something in life that they are truly passionate about, not something that is dictated upon them. I may be reading to much into it, but well played Peralta.

+PsychoticRealist I wanted to talk about it. And the more I thought about it; the harder I wanted to talk about it. I wanted to communicate so badly, and the feelings rose up inside me like a storm expanding on the horizon. So much so that I was becoming hot and clammy as I thought about how hard I wanted to talk about it and then... ...suddenly I didn't care anymore. Didn't even want to think about it. In fact, if I was to be honest; I felt a little ashamed of myself.
