Why is the garbage we see once and never see again called “Movies” and the Art that endures is called “experimental” ?

Awesome piece of history! They even mentioned the Mothers of Invention!

Warhol was much younger in 1966. This interview was overlapped onto a later interview. So just listen and don’t watch then its not so confusing.

Brilliant movie disguised as interview, hats off to Andy!

I'm sure I'll remember some of this, but not all of it, especially Warhol. No, that's not what I mean. Andy will remain in my mind, little else will.

I thought an interview meant getting the interviewed to talk. 70% interviewer's voice with a few fruit case comments from the entourage. Warhol was a rare sort of prophetic genius, who carved new ways of seeing in art. None of this is revealed here.

you probably saved me the time. ; - ) as a paradoxical introvert, interviews would be a a challenge

xyzllii Or was he? There's a lifelong pattern of him having others supply words he couldn't formulate. More of a Savant really.

I like his Liz and Marilyns, but that is about all. I cant think of anything I like by modern living artists. I find so many photos on the Internet and I like those.

You can call him the Prophet of Pop Art if you want but Andy Warhol didn't invent Pop Art; he was himself a product of pop art and pop culture..
@stephenhargrave79225 жыл бұрын
Others started pop art, though Warhol the most prolific carried pop to it's conclusion, and broadened the medium

I might be wrong, but I don't think Warhol or J.M.Basquia invented anything. Pop Art and urban graffiti are products of the 20th century American society. Picasso did give the world something revolutionary, given the conservative artistic standards in the early 1900s..

Andy Warhol? Let's be honest here - he was a guy with no talent whatsoever who was famous for being in the right place at the right time.
@90sHONEY21 күн бұрын
Revolutionizing the art world IS talent. You just don't like his art which is okay but doesn't make him untalented.
