As an aside, I would like to put something on your mind. SRV made a jazz song called Lenny, I often wonder what Hendrix would have sounded like if he would have done the same. Or, if he was even capable. He did have some jazz but it sounded like Big Band, it's some of his worst muisic. Could you remake some of his music in a smooth jazz form. Again thanks for your channel, you are definitely the man. Peace

I just discovered you & your channel. Awesome! On these licks you sound a lot like my favorite and friend the late Chuck Loeb. It would be great if you broke down some of his phrases. He had some great ones. Love the sound of that D’Angelico and your HELIX patch. Please keep up the good work.

Just what I needed. Amazing playing. Those D'Angelicos sound great! Mine never sounded like that...lol. Would you share your other gear with us? I'm getting your lessons ASAP. Thanks. I have had that sound in my head for years, but my playing could never achieve it.

Hi Greg - I use the Line 6 Helix for my tones. I either use a Helix LT or use Helix Native as a plugin in Apple Logic. My interface is an Apogee Duet. Thanks

Very interested to know why the B7#5 was put before moving back to Fm7. Not the first time seeing such a cadence, tritone altered dominant, but non of my theory knowledge is able to explain that. Definitely not a tritone sub (that would be a sub for F7, resulting F7 > Fm7!) Would you mind enlightening me?
@AndyDacoulis
@AndyDacoulis Жыл бұрын
You know what - you are absolutely correct. The B7alt is not a tritone sub for F7 as that (as you mentioned) would be a weird transition (F7- Fm7) To be honest I think that was a situation where I was messing around on the keyboard and liked the sound of the B7(#5) to end the progression. Think of it as a modal chord. Thanks, Newton
