I'm glad you took the modest approach here, Andy! ... and just made a video about your Great Watercolour Setup. For a second there I thought this might be a video about a foot race between you and your dog... in order to see who can run up that hill the fastest. Based on what I watched just now, I don't think you could easily win-as your dog has an unbridled spirit about the outing. So, good on you, for having the foresight to truck up your painting kit so you can always reward yourself for coming in 2nd place.

Just love your set up! I'm trying to decide on having a lower shelf like this, or to have a hinged -type easel. Do you find that if you need to get closer to the painting for detailed work, that the lower shelf gets in the way? (With your body?)
@AndyBeckTeesdale6 ай бұрын
Hi, apologies for the delay in replying. I can't say that the lower shelf does get in the way. However, I do try to keep my distance from the sketch so that the work remains more loose than my studio work. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for the excellent ideas! Love your design!!! I'm going to make something like this for my camera tripod. I'm also going to purchase a "rock shelf" that they make for camera tripods that will help stabilize the tripod outdoors and can also be used for extra supplies.This should not interfere with the shelf you made, since the rock shelf fits in the interior space between all three legs. Also, if a person doesn't have a jigsaw, perhaps they could use a large spade bit to drill the holes on both sides of the shelf and use a handsaw for the rest. Brilliant making it to fit a watercolor block. Minimalist and useful.

Why is your dog wearing a muzzle? You seem to be nowhere near other people so even if he has a tendency to bite I don't understand why he's wearing one while you're alone in the hills? That doesn't seem very fair to him.
