Yeah, he gets an "E" for effort. The loot was probably the best to come out of this story. I'd say I'd watch that retirement lifestyle threat. I noticed that my man, Fultz, seems to be carrying more weight than in the past, especially around the midsection. See, ya. I wish I could be ya. Retired with loot.

Injuries are the bane of any athlete. Some are lucky enough to recover well but others have degenerative conditions or are just injury prone. This ain't 2K where you can set injury frequency and severity to 0.
@MrBubblecake
@MrBubblecake 2 ай бұрын
Injuries aren’t all about luck, especially non contact injuries. They’re about genetics, durability, and play style (mainly how a player controls their body when falling/jumping, which is why they coach QBs how to go down when being tackled). That’s why some players can play 7 straight seasons without a non-contact injury, where people with genetics like Lonzo and LaMelo ball can’t play 2 full seasons without going down grabbing at one of their legs. Some people are just genetically more fragile than others. I played Football, Ice hockey, Roller hockey, and Basketball, all of them for 10+ years until college (I’m now 28) and I’ve never suffered an injury in my life, let alone a non contact injury. But I noticed the kids that DID get injured playing, were usually the same kids that got injured previously in years before. Some people are just injury prone, and no amount of muscle/weight gain will change a fragile body. Genetics also factor in to rate of recovery.
@andycanoy863
@andycanoy863 2 ай бұрын
@@MrBubblecake You have a point. People are just genetically built differently. Some can have strong injury resistance like Lebron and EDP Malone for a long time or be injury prone like Greg Oden and Derrick Rose.

*I have a wild theory:* Had Fultz not been injured on the 76ers in the first place, Ben Simmons would have never played PG and The Process would have not been a complete failure because Simmons’ flaws are more likely to be hidden at the 4.
@Enthusiast230
@Enthusiast230 2 ай бұрын
With or without markelle being injured, Simmons would still have been the primary ball handler, which is impossible in the modern era as ball handlers that can't shoot are major liabilities. Let alone a ball handler that is scared to shoot shots, let alone free throws. Opposing teams could just prioritize post/mid range defense, and the sixers offense every year of the process would have been effectively mitigated. Edit: Grammar

No it's not, its like they just made the wrong picks. They got embiid from Tanking...don't see any punishment there. Theyre also not the only team to Tank. Are the Spurs gonne get punished for Wemby? @@WillWilliams-vo4nk Wemby's not even on the same convo. They got cp3 and harrison barnes for wemby's second year. Is that continued tanking? Philly got embiid and simmons. They were still on their cheap rookie scale contracts and both were injured early on so they had no right to demand high paydays. Philly could have used the cap space to sign good roleplayers to have a respectable team when both came back but they continued to tank to get the 3rd pick and no, there is no alternate universe where philly picked tatum because boston had the 1st pick and was dead set on getting him that they traded down to get more in return for their supposedly "dumb" decision because fultz is the consensus projected no. 1. If Philly had the number 1 pick they would still pick Fultz.

I did a quick check… he has earned over 130 Million, just from the NBA, not including endorsements and other bonuses. I think he should play overseas, and enjoy the game there, while still collecting a significant paycheque. It doesn’t make sense to continue grinding and reinjuring himself for likely garbage time in the next 4 dwindling years of his career.

Probably got the yipps when he first got to the league. More commonly a baseball term, but is basically just a mental block thing where players completely just forget how to play for seemingly no reason.

The Philadelphia 76ers completely ruined his man, most definitely ruined his jump shooting and changing this dude shot badly and went all the injuries he been through, I feel so so bad for him. And for the 76ers to trade up to #1 just to draft him is easily one of the worst trades in NBA history. Philadelphia fans is gonna have to stop calling this "The Process" because where's the process is going, really nowhere

I remember Fultz went to work out with T-Mac before the Summer League. Fultz and T-Mac played a version of 1-on-1. T-Mac won. Granted, T-Mac is quite a bit taller than Fultz, but he'd been out of the league for 4 years at that point.
@captainmarvelous7678

And? T Mac is one of the best scorers ever. If he got the ball first it's not hard to believe he'd hit every single shot no matter the coverage. Not like TMac was 60 or something

I think there'll be at least 1 team in the league that needs an experienced guard on the bench & will pick him up. Especially because they can sign him at a very cheap price.

My Fultz conspiracy theory has always been he had a dirt bike or atv accident that messed him up and neither him or the team was willing to come forth bc it would void his comtract and be seen as huge blunder on both sides so they hid it and it messed him up permanently...it may sound weird but im a life long 6ers fan and it was reporting at the time substantiaing this and it always made the most sense to me bc we've never seen a player from what he was to what he became as far as a jump shooter in a matter of weeks, he looked good at summer league, sprained his ankle, and then came to training camp shooting like a toddler

Markelle Fultz's NBA career is like watching a mime perform in a blackout-full of movement, but you’re not quite sure what’s happening. It’s like putting a Rubik’s Cube in a blender and hoping for a solution. The guy’s potential has been as elusive as a unicorn at a dog show, you know? It’s like expecting a gourmet meal from a food truck that only serves air-plenty of hype, but zero substance. The Fultz saga? It’s the sports equivalent of watching a VHS tape on a 4K TV-just doesn’t quite fit, babe.

It always rubbed me the wrong way to see people making fun of him. I'm in medical school so I have an understanding of how serious and rare TOS is and how unfortunate it was for it to just come out of nowhere on him like that at the most important time in his career. I think it's even worse that it never stopped after it was commonly known that it was due to not even an injury but an overall medical condition with no easy fix

What is really shocking is that no one is giving him a chance on a minimum deal this year. He was not bad a couple of years ago for the magic and overall if he gets his shot going he could be a plus role player. I am shocked the Lakers for example didn't look to him for more experience on their team
