I was actually sort of going to defend him. It was a contract year, but his numbers were amazing on the Clippers. He still is putting up solid numbers too. After game 6 though, 2 shots in a closeout game going 0-2 0pts 4rep 3ast. Yeah, you can't win with that. When Buddy Hield comes off the bench and has not played all series and puts up 20pts and 35yr old Battum gets 16, that's a problem.

I disagree that his problem is not having a bag. His problem is not being aggressive enough. He doesn’t need crazy combo moves to get a good shot. He’s usually guarded by someone slower/smaller/weaker than him. He could get good looks with very simple moves. Here’s the problem with Tobias Harris, he was good back when he was with the clippers because the league didn’t have a lot of PFs like him that could shoot the 3, but as time went on, more players like him came in to the league who could shoot more efficiently, and suddenly his greatest strength became a mediocre talent. His 3 PT shooting also seems to have gotten slightly worse the last couple years, I think people forget that it was his 3 ball on top of his other abilities that put him on the map, Tobias Harris is a great value Paolo Banchero who’s lost his athleticism.

The NBA is crazy right now. There are average to above average players getting paid max stacks because the team can't afford to lose an asset for nothing and if the team is over the soft cap that's an asset that they can't replace. With the new tiers and what is essentially a hard cap in place, the NBA needs to let teams have an exemption in the salary cap for letting a player walk and not being forced to over pay them or lose them for nothing. Tobias Harris isn't a bad player. He's just not a super star and shouldn't be making super star money. If the 76ers paid him $20 million a year, nobody would be upset with this guy. I don't see any point to having a soft cap, a semi hard cap tier, and a harder cap tier. It's needlessly over complicated. Get rid of the soft cap, keep the tiers and let teams actually spend their money wisely.
