One of my favorite piano songs on this one was Winton Kelly's so long. Great dolphin Street with John Coltrane

1:45 Another well known tune that moves back and forth between a Latin rhythm and swing is "A Night in Tunisia" by Dizzy Gillespie.

Can follow the progressions by slowing it dn. & using full screen. Esp. like the modal chords that you use. Learning a lot, thanks.

What scales would you use on the A section? And am I right in thinking of the B section as 2-5-1 in C and then 2-5-1 in Eb

And who played the piano on that famous Miles Davis recording which introduced the pedal tone which has become a stock feature of the song? Of course it was Bill Evans, your friend and teacher, whom we all adore. Story comes full circle. A very artful interpretation of yours, applause Maestro. I wonder why you changed the melody of the head: In bars 10 and 14 over the dominant 7 chords, all the sheet music that I know has over the dominant 7 chords a b9 and #9 in the melody (on measure 3 and 4 of each bar). Probably totally irrelevant, since the movement of the melody is indicated anyways.

Interestingly (or perhaps, not-so-interestingly) this piece is from a Lana Turner movie.
