Great job one tip on soldering, make a mechanical strong joint first, comes from my apprentice days in the uk, having to learn to solder to old post office telephone methods. But I also live in NZ now. Thanks for all the vids, really enjoy them.

Andy, do hope you see this and will be able to advise. My old fan has a small rubber hose. Would it be ok to install a new fan that doesn’t have this hose on it. I don’t see anything like this old fan with a hose on your channels? The fan came off an old Yamaha 4wheeler . Thanks so much, Ronnie from far off Texas . 6:53 o

Hi Ronnie, thanks for your comment. The hose is a breather hose that Yamaha have on many of their electric cooling fans. However, they often allow moisture into the motor so its actually a good idea to fit a sealed motor when replacing. Hope this helps. All the best. Andy

Was that for a Viking? The fan fuse on my Viking is 25 soca 12.5 amp would be fine ?
@AndyMechanic3 жыл бұрын
25 soca? what do you mean? I think the standard fuse is a 10 amp from memory but could be wrong. The fans do suffer from moisture ingress so check the bearings & check continuity as you rotate the armature. Cheers Andy

Sorry spell check . The fan fuse is 25 so can I use a fan that pull 12.5? I tested the original fan I put Direct power with a power probe in the fan would not engage until I spun the blades with my hands. Now my fan turns on when it reaches the temperature but the Viking is still getting hot. Do you thinkThe fan he’s too weak to cool down. Thank you so much for all your videos.

yes, fan motor is dead. Internal corrosion likely - you'll need to change it

Can a fan be running weak/slow? Or does it either work or not? Mine seems really weak but it's still turning. My c2h warning light came on and I had to shut it down to cool off.
