Man, this song is so relatable and vulnerable. I am a very cynical person when it comes to relationships because of past hurt. The Lord has been restoring my heart, but I'm constantly tempted to retreat into isolation every time I'm offended or a friend hurts me. Ironically, I say "I don't need you" to some of my best friends in my thoughts and feelings. Hearing this reminds me that shunning people and wallowing in loneliness is not the way to go. Thank you Andy.

Eliseo torrez same! It really opens up the mentality behind all of the music. Because when I listen to music I often think to myself about what the artist was intending to do or say with this song. Really awesome the way they are doing this thing.

The lyrics, the song, the visuals and now the conversation. I appreciate this level of artistry. It was really great hearing men talk about the issues we all go through so often. I respect the art and ministry. I dont need Andy screaming Jesus on every track when his music is already so helpful and sounds so good.

I appreciate Andy's intentionality as a musician. His comment about wanting to be careful about naming the track, "I Don't Need You", so as to avoid sending the wrong message to his listeners, reveals his mindful and intentional nature. Many times I've come across songs that did not feed the souls of people in a healthy way, e.g. singing about murder, drug abuse, physical abuse, etc. Personally, I prefer to listen to musicians who provoke me to think deeply, are speaking about content/topics of substance and benefitting me/my life in a positive way. Andy is definitely one of those artists, along with a few other Reach Record artists. Thank you, Andy and your team, for being mindful artists/creators. Please keep it up and God bless.

I kept commenting this all day relating to this song, but it hits so hard. It just shows that I really need people. I have friends that I rely on, but honestly I'm self-conscious about asking them about certain things and telling them I want to be loved by them (even though that's kinda implied in that friendship), so when Pastor John (I think it was him that did) mentioned that it's not a bad thing to ask for that, that kinda struck me. So thank you for this ep Andy Edit: Nope, it was Andy that mentioned it, sorry

27:14 Andy you are an amazing artist and will always be in my TOP rotation. That thought is your truth and that's ok but in reality when that happens its only because of the way music is consumed now..streaming anything at anytime. Back when CDs were bought..you could be "ON" much longer. Take your time and do you (with your team #collab 😉) and I believe it will always be great.

The myth of the self made-man isn't Andy Italian? Nah, but frfr this song is introspective and vulnerable, which i have a problem with being vulnerable in public. That's why I would've love to be a disciple in the 1st century and to see and follow Lord Jesus Christ because He was authentic all day, everyday. Not hiding a thing (as in who He was/is) which is very praiseworthy. No matter what folks thought or said about Him. He was/is true to the core. God bless ya'll.

I hate to make the comparison but I have to. Forgive me in advance but I think it's worth saying. Andy talks about not wanting to release a negative vibe out to the masses because of the content of this song. At 7:00 He talks about landing the plane and at 8:57 he mentions it again. At 10:05, Del mentions it again. After all the emotions of the song Andy ends with the "B side" of the song which brings closure and somewhat of a victorious/positive look toward the future. I think this is why personally I cannot connect with NF and watching this video made it click. I don't feel like NF ever lands the plane or wants to. From album to album it goes deeper and darker with no closure, victory or nothing positive pointing to ward a better tomorrow. People always ask me why I don't like the majority of NF's music. This is why. Again, I hate to compare because they are difference artists with different motives, aspirations, etc. He doesn't make music for me which is cool and dope. I'm not really comparing them, just sharing how this conversation helped it click why I don't feel NF's music. No shade at all!

The question was asked "Why do you think the world glorifies doing everything yourself?" and my 2 cents would be because I think it's the opposite of what God wanted. God created us to be in fellowship with Him and depend on Him while fellowshipping with our brothers and sisters- unified under Christ's name. But the world says - "be your own god... prove you can do it without anybody and show you don't need god". It's a lie and myth that anyone could succeed without Christ and be fully fulfilled. I think it's just another lie from the devil.
