I recently built my first 5" - 6S with Xing 2208 1700kv motors. It flies beautifully but I was very surprised to get large voltage sag. It has Dalprop T5046C and I plan to reduce pitch but have an 80% throttle scale until I buy them! Still, like you say, I love the way it flies compared to my lighter R349 GT ... just didn't expect the same sag levels, especially with R-Lines. Flipside is it didn't cost any more to make than a 4s ...
@archer49225 жыл бұрын
I’ve got those same motors on a freestyle build. I’ve been running the hq 5.1x4.1x3 props and I don’t get much sag at all. I think it’s the props your using. The cyclone 5046 is a heavy and pitchy prop and on a large motor like the xing 2208 it’ll push the amps up there. Try a lower pitch prop and you should see a big difference. 👍
@Retset5 жыл бұрын
@@archer4922 I suspected as much. Thank you. I'll search out the props you are using - I've never had HQ props but only hear good stuff about them.

Great little review. I’ve been loving my 6s buzz since the day they came out. Love running HQ 6x3.5x3 props on it. On the Avan flow props I always get a weird oscillation at high throttle, but the gemfan 51466 and hq 5146 run great on it as well, so smooth. 👍👍

The hard wired AUX4 VTX kill messed me up for so long. Thought I had VTX issues and actually bought a spare VTX. It's also unfortunate that Emax has said it cannot be change to a different channel. Oh well.

I still haven’t updated my firmware lol. I really need to one of these days. My battery voltage on the osd is way off on mine and I can’t adjust it till I update the fw but I’ve learned where to land, when my osd says 3.9 my pack is actually at 3.7. I think I was just lucky to have my radio set up right. My switches worked with the stock settings and I just never updated the fw lol.

AndyRC I’m going to mess with it this week sometime but ima save the current settings and see if there’s a difference. The pids or something may be a tad different not sure. All I know is this thing flys really smooth with hq 6x3.5x3 props. I know you flew with the Avan flow props, did you notice any oscillation at high throttle once you upgraded the fw? Mine does pretty bad above about 65-70% throttle with the flow props. If yours doesn’t the update may have taken care of it.

Try using a much bigger battery around 3000mha. Just about no voltage sag and super smooth video. Some of my smoothest flights are on a 4000mah 4S 15C lipo on a qav210 red bottom 5 inch.

made this look like a decent option for a beginner with a lot of support. ps. that feeling when you decide to go through goalposts from a long way off and realize you'll be doing about 100mph by the time you get there, and you go anyway hehehe

Andy, You put my flying "skills" (and I use the term loosely) to shame. Nice flying. It may seem mundane to some but it still demonstrates a skill level far above my own. Keep flying and making vids.

As long as you enjoy flying then there is no need to compare skill. People tell me all the time your flying is bad and you should stick to being a reviewer. And to that I say. I'm flying and I'm having fun. Go and fly how you like not how someone else likes I say. Thanks so much for watching means a lot

6s is better #facts Point is you are getting more power and rpm from the 6s setup so yeah sag is similar to lower kv 4s if you hammer it. TBH the benefit of 6s has evened out now but big high kv motors are now very usable where they didn't use to be. I run 2208-1800kv and get 4+ min flights, people are pushing over 2000kv on 6s now too without killing all their flight time. Can you imagine what a 2208-2700kv or even 3200kv (2150kv 6s) motor would do to a 4s pack? Hope you are well mate.

I have a question about what you said about prop numbers, I always thought the middle number represented the pitch instead of how far it travels in a second. when I look it up it says it's pitch, but I never thought the number and pitch were right. Is there a coeallation between pitch, and travel per second?
@AndyRCchannel5 жыл бұрын
It's how far it travels in one rotation not a second and the pitch determines that but seen as pitch is dynamic on a prop they have to use travel for the number. Cheers
