Great job on the model. The Albatross D.V is one of the most aesthetically pleasing aircraft ever made IMHO. I don't like the yellow color, however. I feel the fuselage should be bare wood with variations from one panel to the next. Thanks for sharing your techniques, esp. the rigging. I have never even attempted to do the rigging myself.

Just a stunning model. I was skeptical of the color scheme but that really turned out wonderful. The rigging line was a stroke if genius ax well. Just a very clean model, something that any modeler would be extremely proud to display.

I agree... the rear fuselage would have been varnished wood if I'm not mistaken... not yellow.

Wayne Coulter Yes...the thing is nobody really knows for sure, and back then conditions, colors, an added scheme or two, could change on a daily basis. Very little if any unit standards.

@@dtmjax5612 and very little color photography then too ;)
@ronschlorff70895 жыл бұрын
@@waynecoulter6761 agreed, don't know why wingnuts suggested that color. It was a bit straw-ish colored, if cleared and not stained first, but that is way too yellow, IMHO. Good example of the need for your own research, even on a kit. Since I scratch most of mine, it's (the research) a major part of the build.
@MothaLuva4 жыл бұрын
Wayne Coulter WNW does a real thorough job with their research, also with the colors. The picture(s) of the real airplane clearly show a different color on the rear of this airplane, compared to other Albatrosses with a natural varnished wood rear. I have the same model kit and there are some photos at the end of the instructions going with the particular paint schemes.

I would also like to add that your love for the hobby comes over and I hope you are getting financially rewarded because you can tell that you do this for love and enjoyment first and I don't think you even think of the knock on to your shop but I do hope you have had an increase in trade . However he knows it is hard to have a real shop in this years where more and more trade are done at internet. People there know what the are talking about actual use this method to drive knowledge and commercial for your shop to drive customer in your direction. Please notice whatsoever happy this man are. Having a shop open for maybe 10 hours a day and then do commercial videos for maybe 3 hours a day. That is hard work.

9:29....I paint exterior cottage signs and have started doing more landscape paintings as opposed to "signs" and I do a lot of trees. Some of my favourite brushes for doing tree bark and birch trees is a brush I let dry with paint on it then combed it with a brass toothbrush. The bristles are extremely stiff now and perfect for doing stuff like wood grain etc.
