It's an interesting coincidence the Salmson was my first Wingnut Wing kit: • Wingnut Wings Salmson ...
Primarily I decided to build the blue aircraft for it's visible engine. I hope you enjoy my little experiments.
If you want to see how the engine was built you might see it here: • HowTo: Improve the Mer... .
And here's the clip of my wood experiment painting the dashboard: • HowTo: Painting wooden... .
Wingnut Wings: "The legendary Fokker D.VII is widely considered the best German fighter aircraft to emerge from the Great War. Wether this is true or not, it was certainly the most numerous and as such was the only aircraft specifically requested to be surrendered in the Allies armistice terms. In Early 1918 the young Jasta pilots were mainly equiped with Albatros D.Va, Pfalz D.IIIa and the Fokker Dr.1 Triplane which were no match for the SE.5a, SPAD 13 and Sopwith Camels that they faced each day. Fokker's prototype D.VII (the V.11) impressed the front line pilots present at the First Fighter Trials in January-February 1918 so much that word soon started to leak out about a new Fokker that would once again return air superiority to the Germans. So great was the need for this promising new fighter that, in addition to production at Fokker, Albatros were ordered to manufacture it under license at their Johannisthal (Alb) and Schneidemühl (OAW - Ostdeutsche Albatros Werke) factories, incidentally building more that twice the number of D.VII as Fokker!...."

This is my favourite video from you, great job! Your music choice is great, you build things that no one else has built on KZbin, your camera positioning is great, the video isn't too long, your stop motion is very entertaining, your painting is professional, your builds are professional and the white background is great and it looks very modern! Thank you so much Tom :)

When I was young, modelling and had steady hands I thought I was pretty clever painting in a pilot's moustache. Now I realise that it was a clumsy daubing. This gentleman is in another league, he probably paints in the pilot's nose hair.

I've been searching the internet (unsuccessfully) for the colour scheme/livery of Herman Goerring's plane(s) during Ww1, as I would like to build a group of german fighters with differing exotic colours. I thought I'd like to include some of Germany's best known aces' planes: Immelman, Boelcke, the von Richtofen brothers, Goerring, and maybe a couple more. I'll probably concentrate on Fokker triplanes (less rigging), but throw in at least one Fokker eindecker and a Focke Wulf - can you suggest a site where I could find this information? I'm an enormous fan of your work, both the builds and the filmwork. You're one of the best around, keep up the good work!

Sorry, I cannot recommend any site of interest. But I'm pretty sure goering's planes were painted white.

What camera and lens do you use for Photography, and how on earth do you place the parts out, and then later paint them, and then place them back in the exact same place to continue with the stop motion? Are you using special Stop Motion software? Final Cut? Premiere? Your work is fascinating, and my wife thinks you must be a surgeon by trade. The quality of your assembly and video production is TOP NOTCH. It's like "James May-The Reassembler" videos, but with much better production quality. I can hardly wait for the next one.

I'm pleased you like my work... I am a 3D Designer/Animator who works in an advertising agency. My cameras are from Nikon (D80 and D800) and I work with After effects and premiere...

A lovely video; excellent choice of song too. It was both regal and energetic, which I feel captures the enthusiasm you must have for these projects, that, and it made me feel nostalgic for the Stainless Steel mod for Medieval 2: Total War that uses the same on the campaign map. Thanks for making and sharing some wholesome entertainment. All the best!

Let me know when you start a church for modelers, I wish to leave an offering oh great one. (I mean all this in a Monty Python kind of way that’s hard to explain).
