This is hands down the best video about crackle medium I've seen. Never would have thought to use gold as the base coat, but it looks fantastic (I'm having some thought with this about my Christmas cards). The directions of the cracks, translucent paints, using the stamp in the background. All of it. This Should be the first video people watch on crackling. Thanks so much for sharing, sorry it took me so long to find this.

I did a dresser this way, I did a side at a time, and all the drawers together. It looked awesome. My friend's daughter HAD to have it, so I gave it to her for Christmas.

I used Decoart Traditions Acrylic paint, the quinacridones are very translucent.

Andy, at 5:45 did you use the weathered wood crackle medium on top of the text, then the translucent paint? (I did not see you apply the crackle medium.) I am just a little confused. I want to try all these techniques. Thank you so much for ALL your videos!

What would happen if you airbrush an acrylic on top of the weathered wood? Also what if the weathered wood is airbrushed itself? What about using pigments on the top layer, would the crackle effect be activated?
