Variable aperture, not focus. And I think the aperture leaves need to overlap a bit more, to not be as jagged on the inside circumference. First time i've seen someone injection-mold parts at home though.

Yes, I wasn't completely happy with the iris mechanism, or some other parts of the eye. That's why I built a 2nd version, there's a video on that too.

Damn! After a serious motorcycle wreck almost 8 yrs. ago my company brought me back and put me in the machine shop because they thought it would be better on me from the injuries I had. I learned a pretty good bit from guys that I think are excellent machinist, but watching this, I realize I don't know s**t!😁 I did actually learn a few tips on setups I can use from watching this. Fortunatley though the T-800 doesn't have a full set of teeth, it's missing some of the molars at the back, so I only had to make something like 24 vs 32.
