G'day matey (in a Belfast accent) it was relaxing listening to someone half sensible (where I'm from half sensible is considered a compliment) for 20 mins or so. The Harley rider comment was interesting, I was praying he woulda wailed past you. Your comment about the shooting of a club member immediately brought back memories of when I was at school if we heard shooting we used to go to a local estate Sringmartin during our lunch break to watch gun battles between the IRA and Army, there was regular shooting at the houses we were watching from, I'm not sure if they knew we were school kids poking our heads around the corner though there was often ricochets when bullets hit the walls, one day a young guy called Jonny McQuade my second cousin got shot in the chest, it passed through him and killed the kid behind, Jonny lived to be known as lucky. Like dicks we were back the next day. One of our past times was collecting rubber bullets during riots in Ligoniel where I lived like ballboys at a tennis match, thinking back it was more like ballbags. Growing up in North Belfast one of the Murder Triangles this was our normal every day. When you're 13/14 your invincible or you think you are. This may be the reason why most of my family are in Australia and today I resent hatred, bigotry, racism, discrimination, violence, war, etc etc. On a good note, I enjoyed your vid. Now I will go and see what Craig and Quicky are up too and see what Matt isn't.

When I was in my 30s I road from Queensland to Tasmania, in the winter. I road my BMW r1100s which I still own 20 years later. I have since bought a Duke ST3. Quality is better than quantity. Good vid mate. Sound quality was good and your cornering was quite good too. Ride to survive with a blast in between.

I have an ST4s 2002, stock screen, and I am 6ft, 183cm, have the series 2 seat with a sheepskin cover. I would highly recommend the Shark Spartan Carbon helmet, very quiet, has a chin shirt, has an internal second tinted visor like a fighter pilots helmet. Lightweight, and feature packed. Roughly $600 - 650, but I am sure your son could get you a discount. I did Tassie in 2018, after the NDR at Jindabyne, best trip of my life! Craig

Enjoyed watching your no BS style, Sweet sounding ST3, good on you for your public displays of spirited but safe riding; personally have a GTR14 with Delcovic & black Ducati ST4 with GBR slip ons and power commander, the Ducati exhaust noise is intoxicating lol

You've certainly planned a trip for yourself. I hope all the travel rules are relaxed enough so that you can travel across the various borders without any dramas. The road looks to be a good one for a motorcycle ride and it seems to be well maintained which makes the ride so much better.

Nice one, Andy. That prison peninsula reminds me of the Isle of Portland here in Dorset, England. Just a causeway for access. Perfect place for a prison, or two in Portland's case. Look forward to seeing what West Queensland looks like. Have a good Christmas.

Looks like normality is coming back to Australia Andy. EEV blogged about it yesterday with a trip round the shopping mall and there was only the odd mask here or there though he did say there was a new outbreak of seven infections. Here in the UK its not getting any better with a withdrawal of the Christmas break of lockdowns down to one day only. Stay safe and enjoy the riding.

When I was young I was at a party that was crashed by and 20 hells angels. The alpha of their group sized me up as another type of alpha. He wouldn't let any of his boys knock me around or insult me. He made sure I always had a fresh coldie in my hands, by telling his flunkies to sort me out. Wanted to talk to me about how hard it was keeping his idiots under control. A very enlightened philosophical discussion. He had nobody to talk to in his club/chapter. Sounded a sad life for him.

Thanks for posting, really enjoyable. My wife and I are due to ride our ST3 from the UK to Sardinia and Tuscany in May next year but got a bad feeling with Covid it may not happen. How do you find the ST?

Do you wear ear plugs while you ride Andy? Took me about 6 months to work out that ear plugs are the go now I don’t ride without them, however I have a naked bike and a fairly budget conscious HJC lid.
