You are by far one of the most determined and amazing people on this planet. I remember when I was younger I replayed the original Disneyland Electrical Parade on my iPod Shuffle. I loved the original charm Don Dorsey's version had. The newer ones are still amazing, specially Paint the Night, but you by far captured the original one to start it all perfectly. Perhaps you could help with a certain "parade" project of my own?

This is not the original composition, it's the "new" arrangement. The original (Perrey/Kingsley & later Dorsey) has a short measure -- 7 counts -- at about the 3/4 point of the loop (bar # 10) it adds a bit of syncopation for the remainder of the phrase. Listen to it here by following the Cinderella's Ball harpsichord theme: kzbin.info/www/bejne/noi3lZduerCiabsm55s It was removed due to the parade choreographers complaining about it. Also, not having to pay Don Dorsey royalties any longer also had something to do with it. The current version at Disneyland is done by an unnamed studio musician so they could save money. I was in DL parades for over 8 years and did ELP for 6 of those years. The music is burned into my brain.

can anyone point out where the 3-beat tempo comes into play (that was the big reason for the soundtrack change as choreographers have hated the odd tempo since day 1 in '72, the other reason for the change was so more Disney melodies could be woven in.)
