Magnificent band! This is what nowadays KC should be. They've failed but this band has not.

The fact they're relying entirely on their touring their old stuff for success, combined with their reluctance to publish their music anywhere has really hurt King crimson's potential. Especially with the fantastic lineup they have, so much potential.

My Progressive Rock love began at 13 in 1978 ( my secret as I also loved TheStranglers / The Pistols etc ) but having ‘ caught up ‘ with much from 68 to 80 , by 83 prog in Britain became pop or politics ( the final cut )- which bored the Girls around here immensely. Only The Enid and Hawkwind remained true to their hearts and minds ( king crimson became talking heads’ jazz cousin ) and few chicks smoked hash or took mushies enough to appreciate them. Fast forward to my children putting Spotify etc in front of me in 2010 and suddenly the future isn’t so bad after all. Apart from Pineapple Theif & Steven Wilson britain doesn’t appear to produce prog or post rock but thank the Gods that Canada, usa, Scandinavia, Germany , Australia etc does! I want Anekdoten T shirt please. Will Pay . Can anybody provide an address ? Fantastic, they can do it real and guy on keys looks like Tony Kaye circa 1970;😃🏴😇❤️from wessexshire

Yes, they are great and I agree with you about the Adrian Belew phase of King Crimson - but I also should point out that the "guy" on keys is Anna Sofi Dahlberg!

I strongly disagree with the opinion that british prog rock is dead except Pineapple Theif & Steven Wilson. I highly appreciate Marillion, Pendragon, Arena, IQ, Jadis, The Tangent, Big Big Train, IO Earth, Haken, Threshold, Manning, Mike Oldfield, Kino, Frost*, Lonely Robot, Cosmograf, Abel Ganz, Tiger Moth Tales, Midas Fall, Mogwai, God Is an Astronaut, Earthside, Ozric Tentacles and others. Also it's remarkable that Steve Hackett still produces incredible music last two decades. @@Mardell. Both Opeth and Anekdoten are influenced by Anglagard, Landberk, and Scandinavian folk music. This explains most of the similarities.

Opeth began as a death metal band and although their sound was transformed into progressive metal, there is no comparison with Anekdoten, who debuted with one of the classic albums of the new era of progressive Scandinavia.
