Although I have listened to this audiobook over and over, it was today I took the time to slowly take in its teachings. I must say it is a very much needed teaching in today's generation. I am on chapter 4 as I am taking notes along the way and I pray that as I implement its teachings, I will be given the power to resist temptation and be fully obedient.

Maria Espinosa Agreed, the concept of obedience isn't spoken of much nowadays. While the rebellious nature of the flesh is actually encouraged in the form of "freedom"... Sad times we live in.

His books are greatly needed in today's society and for the younger ones who are being taught, the teachings of christ made up to date for this modern times. If only they can go back to these guys of long time ago who rightly divided the word of truth.

Obedience does not fill pocket books or tithing bowls. While we all struggle with out 'hard' American lives. Jesus is literally breaking forth in the Iranians because of thier obedience mindset. Google Sheep among Wolves and watch on youtube. What a beautiful display of Christ in the church in 2020!

But now my Christian walk has hit a halt and I seek for answers and I know now that it’s all because I haven’t been obedient enough. I don’t know if y’all ever felt like God showing you this and revealing it to you and only feeling so deeply saddened that it feel like your far away. I pray for this teaching to guide me

They dislike this video because they had no intention of doing what it says in the first place. You have to DECIDE to disobey God in order to disobey Him. The Israelites demonstrated this attitude over and over again - so God labeled them a STIFFNECKED people. I believe, this is why the HOLOCAUST took place-the reason they were run out of their land and were in captivity over and over again.

Many will say to Jesus, 'Lord, Lord' Jesus will say to them 'I never knew you', and call them 'workers of iniquity' (lawlessness and disobedience) and tell them to DEPART. Murray's teaching is right on target. Obedience and keeping the Commandments of God is key to a relationship with Him.

This book is life changing. I recall saying the very same thing after reading Murray’s book on HUMILITY. I never realized I was holding back. I’d been telling God, I’d do MY BEST. Wow what a wretched offering to my Lord and Savior. I am committing 110% EVERYTHING..... NO holding back. Bc I do believe God is able. I have no righteousness, what I have is from Christ and He gets the glory. So Lord I commit myself UNTO DEATH, COMPLETE OBEDIENCE. EVERYTHING IS YOURS ALONE AND I WILL OBEY ....even unto death. To Your glory... my Savior, my Love.

Chapter 1 begins at 3:03. This book is now found in stores under the title "The Blessings of Obedience". My copy is by Whitaker House, 1984. An excellent book. I don't know how to account for it but the language in The Blessings of Obedience is different, though the essential message is the same. There are fewer words and more commonplace today than during Murray's life so I think that "Blessings" must have been edited to make it easier to read.

Brothers and sisters, have seen this place, Hades-Sheol, it is family or tribal waiting room of the dead. I saw many of my passed relatives, they stared at me with a blank look. Thinking I was in heaven, I lifted my hands and began praising Jesus...He immediately harpazoed me out of there. It is not hell, the lake of fire, it is a family or tribal waiting room prior to Judgment. I know this is heavy, but it is also consistent with the Word of the Lord. Tell the Truth, Jesus is God Almighty, and the only Way to be cleansed of our patent sin is through the blood shed at the Cross. He is not only at the door now, His hand is on the knob. I would rather offend someone into heaven, than comfort them into hell. Yes, Fear God and keep His commandments.

How can a young man cleans his ways?!
@jeremiahzeiset9 ай бұрын
How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. (Psalm 119:9) And after that, David says: I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, Lord; teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word. (Psalm 119:10-16) The answer is in seeking the Lord, repenting of sin, reading scripture, praying, singing, and in general keeping your whole heart and mind set on Christ Jesus. He is King, and when He is your King, everything else will work out. He is good! Isn't that what the passage I quoted says?

Very good conversation except one HUGE ERROR. God COMMANDS us to REMEMBER the SEVENTH (7th) DAY to keep it Holy. Chapter 4 says 1st day of week is holy day. Remember what our Heavenly Father COMMANDS us. Ten Commandments includes ALL TEN, not just the nine that the world holds as tradition. If you believe we should not kill, steal, commit adultery, etc., then the 4th COMMANDMENT is, remember the SEVENTH DAY is apart of ALL the others. AMEN.

1:52:12 - what was the old covenant? Exodus 19:8 says the people promised to do all that God said, then 40 days later they were dancing and giving praise to a golden calf idol Hebrews 8:8 says God found fault with them, that them is “the people” Genesis 3:15 shows that God implemented plan A which had been decided on before the foundation of the world according to Revelation 13:8 so here AM has another little blind spot, teaching what scripture does not teach. Christ has always been the only way to receive Salvation for in the garden of Eden ((after Adam sinned wilfully (Romans 7:7; Hebrews 10:26,27; Romans 6:23) and ushered sin into the world - 1 Corinthians 15:21)) the shadow which finds its substance in the body of Christ (Colossians 2:16,17; Leviticus 23:4-37) was introduced (Genesis 3:21; Leviticus 7:8) and Hebrews 11 is filled with proof that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone. So AM has perhaps not fully understood what the old covenant was… see what the old covenant was Exodus 20:22 to 23:33 Explained in Hebrews 9:9,10; 10:4 The law (representing Gods character - Philippians 2:5) written in stone Now see what the new covenant is Luke 22:20-22 Explained in Hebrews 10:10; John 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:7; 7:19 The law (representing Gods character - Philippians 2:5) written in the heart/mimd/character (Matthew 7:21-23; 19:16-19; 22:40; John 15:10; 1 John 2:3-6; 5:2:3)

1:57:05 -Philippians 2:5 this mind (character) in Christ is the sinless character of God - what is sin? 1 John 3:4 says that sin is the transgression of the law! Which law? James 2:8-12 says the Ten Commandments and James states that if we break even only one of the ten identifies us as lawbreakers! Romans 7:7 testifies the same thing. Matthew 7:23 says that if we are lawbreakers we will not inherit eternal life (since we don’t mirror the character of God had Matthew 19:16-19 in order to inherit eternal life we must have the character of God in us a transcript of which is found in the Ten Commandments (John 15:10; 1 John 2:3-6; Revelation 14:12)

Whoa!! All was well until the start of chapter 4! The day of rest- the sabbath is the LAST day of the week!! That was established by God the Father, and even Jesus Christ the Son of God kept the sabbath! The Catholic church changed the day of rest to Sunday. The true people of God do NOT attain to a first day of rest!

I absolutely love the writings of Andrew Murray but I am sorry to say that I simply cannot stand listening to this man's rendition! I apologize for putting it so bluntly, but I feel the effort at 'dramatization' and the use of various 'voices' by the reader, (none of which seem to be the reader's 'true voice'), leaves me with the feeling of listening to a poorly done, Saturday morning cartoon. I could not force myself to listen past the first 12 minutes.
