ANETTE Attempts FLOOR'S High Belt! Dark Chest of Wonders

Anette's voice and range fitted those great albums recorded in the studio. Sounded great too. Live was a bit of a challange for her. She did a good job on the older songs as best she could. When it came to my own personal reaction, it really was the goosebump count that places Floor as fav. Tarja was amazing but less on the goosbumps count. Anette never caused that reaction so that concluded my interest. Everyone reacts differently and after 10 years, Floor is still able to be part of this great band. Awesomeness from the next album awaits us.

Tarja, Anette and Floor are three different vocalists with beautiful voices each. The beauty of the voice isn't always the highest notes, it's the colour, the brightness, the clearance and many more. Don't forget that each song written for the different vocalist and each one has her style and her scene present,no one copycat the other. I have deep respect to Anette's vocals abilities and i continue to support her in other projects and her solo career,i love her voice. If you want to be more specific, they are fantastic singers outside NW which have fantastic voices but no one speaks about them and it's unfair 😔. Stop the comparison between Floor and Anette,Dark chest of wonder 🤣 is Tarja's song era,at least compare Tarja and Floor in this song.

Omg. Props for finding this rare clip Love when she attempted this note even though it sounded awful. It's better than her lowered melody. At least I can still laugh at the fail.

I do enjoy how Annette did the older Nightwish songs in her own way to make it work best for her. And I say if people don't like that than good only listen to the older stuff. I def want to find any and all high quality footage of Anette's tenure with the band of her doing all the songs from "Angel's fall first" all the way to "Once"

I don't think it's fair to criticise her for trying , but she was never going to be able to match Floor, and I can't think of anyone else who could either!! Floor is the best 'overall singer' I have ever heard 🙂😃😃 Cheers Ronnie

Not to bash on Anette because she can sing, but in her own style. No... I don't give her props for trying... This is a professional band at a concert, not a high school recital. You do your trying during practice, not in front of paying customers. If you can't do it 10 out of 10 times in rehearsal, then its not for you and you revise the song so that it sounds good for you. I am a supportive person and normally would be applauding trying but at this level in her career, trying is just not good enough. Oh and I agree Floor is the best "overall singer" I have ever heard. So no shame to Annette for not being Floor because I can't think of any other singer that matches her either.

@@darpompie4354 One thing to remember - Nightwish picked Annette out of all the singers that tried for the role of lead singer!! I personally don't listen to her as I don't particularly like her style, but Nightwish must have seen something in her that they liked otherwise they wouldn't have offered her the role! @@ronnie1587 I agree. Not sure how many singers Tuomas looked into at that time and why he chose Annette (There must be a reason). I personally don't like her singing/style for Nightwish either but I'm sure others do. Music is subjective, so there is no right or wrong. I also Love Tarja who got me hooked into Nightwish, and think she is the best at Nightwishes operatic songs but "to me", Floor is just the best all around singer on the planet. Like I said, Annette can sing (probably more suited to a pop band though). My response was based on your comment "I don't think its fair to criticize her for trying". It doesn't matter if Nigthwish picked Annette. In a professional band in front of paying customers you don't try... you do. You try in rehearsals. Clearly that range is a struggle for her. She should know that and not try it live, Tuomas should also know that and tell her not to do it live. Regardless who's fault it is, my point is, at this level there are no participation badges and criticism is warranted.

I think Anette's voice sounds much better on her lower register, it's a shame Tuomas as the song composer didn't took advantage of that back in the day

Actually she does this since 2007, seach a little and you will find, it sounded good but she stopped probably becase she lacked technique so it could damage her voice.

I think Anette shoukd had trained her voice to fit as much as possible to Nightwish songs. I think she just needed to work her vocals. I'm not sure if there are videos of her training or warming her voice. But there are videos of Floor warming her vocals, training and even teaching.

@@mrallsundayy yes. You got me. She does it good on this one but she has to keep going up and up to develop the notes and then work on beltings. Her voice is light, that's an advantage for high notes.

Because Tarja didn't belt. Tarja was in pure head voice when singing that part.

Of course she can not match Floor, but let's face it, Floor and Tarja are trained classical vocalists. Let's hear any of you that put Anette down sing better than her. Honestly, you act so chilish

I have nothing anette o actually really like her style and voice. But she is unfortunately not really good at live shows. I don't have any intentions to put her down. Actually that was so brave of her to try new things
