Almost immediately? On what planet is 14months "almost immediately"? Ange has been on a bad run since 27th October 2023, perfforming massively below the level required. His form of late has went from horrendous to entirely disgraceful. Ange should have went in the summer and the club needs to be phoning around potential replacements already. Theres a good chance he loses to Wolves, Newcastle, Liverpool AND Arsenal on top of his already shocking run. Ange simply isnt good enough.

I think we need to see the bigger picture. Players like Van de Ven, Romero, Vicario, Bentancur and Dragusin are injured, meaning that Tottenham’s defence is now significantly weaker with no proper support in the centre back positions or goalkeeper role. Forster (as a keeper) is reaching the end of his career, meaning he’s more likely to make more costly errors than a keeper like Guglielmo, who’s extraordinarily dedicated to his involvement in the team. Romero and Van de Ven are incredible too, Cristian’s majorly consistent performances led him to becoming a world champion and Micky has pace to pressure opponents and even charge at the net as seen in the Everton and United games in the Premier League. Come to think of it, if there’s anyone to blame for Tottenham’s inconsistency and lack of titles, it’s Daniel Levy and ENIC. Conte was spot on. Levy’s leadership meant that Spurs didn’t mentally charge for titles. Prior to his arrival, Tottenham indeed had trophies, including 8 FA Cups, 3 Carabao Cups, 3 European Cups (including winning the first Europa League title when called the UEFA Cup) and 7 Community Shields. Since he bought the club from Lord Alan Sugar in 2001… 1 Carabao Cup, an Audi Cup, and even came 3rd in a 2 horse race for the league, against Leicester City. Yet, we cannot criticise the managers really. Tottenham have had managers such as Pochettino, Mourinho, Conte and Nuno (with the latter bringing Forest into 3rd at the time of commenting). They have had some massive managers coach them, but Levy’s lack of support didn’t allow them to buy or intrigue any players with world class ability or a desire to win a trophy. That’s why players such as Modric, Bale, Eriksen and Kane left. Modric and Bale dominated Spain and Europe, with 11 UCLs together (6 for Luka and 5 for Gareth), Eriksen won Serie A, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup with Inter Milan and Manchester United respectively, and Kane could be on course to finally win the league with Bayern. To conclude, do I think it’s Ange’s fault that Spurs are in a bad place? Not really. Levy needs to break his bank in January to get Tottenham the success it needs. Because if he fails to do so, Ange could be jobless and there’ll be a lot of fans who want him gone, though many already do. And if that happens, he should resign and give the club to an owner committed to the aspect of club success, not just the financial stability.

I agree with most of what you said, although I have a different take on Enic. Prior to Enic, Spurs average around 10th in the league. It went to under 10th in the first 10 years after Enic took over in 2001-03, and has been 6th of better for the last 17 years, along with European football in the last 15 or so. CL final and 2nd are new achievements for the club. The training ground and stadium are top notch. Catching up and competing with Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea before Man City gatecrashed the party, with the model Spurs have, is a tough ask, yet Levy managed this under Poch. Now everyone expects top 4, although which of the other clubs mentioned above do Spurs replace? If that's the case, then it would mean Levy/Enic has turned Spurs into a top 4 club, and would need due credit for doing that. Spurs won't break the bank. They didn't when Abramovic came to Chelsea, nor did they when national backing came to City. Enic has built Spurs up on a budget. Commendable? Spurs last came 3rd in the league in 1997 with no CL until Redknapp (although AVB did get 4th but Chelsea won CL).

Tottenham will get through it but Ange might not. Injuries are part of football but not doing anything to adjust how you play to help the players you put out, playing the same way regardless, will get him sacked in the end. At this level, it just doesn’t work. Let’s not forget, he was about 5th choice for the job and apart from the first part of last season, he was found out tactically very quickly and we’ve gone backwards ever since. Only a cup win keeps him in a job for next season I fear.

As a Spurs fan, the state of these Spurs fans calling for Ange to be sacked is embarrassing. We're the top scoring team in the league, we're playing enterprising, attacking football. Yea we're conceding a lot but virtually our entire first choice defence is out injured, and the players we do have are knackered as we haven't been able to rotate during the busiest period of the season. These fans castigating Ange for not having a Plan B are exactly the same fans who were whining about us being too pragmatic and not scoring enough goals under Conte - would love to know what this Plan B is that they're referring to. Also those saying it's Ange's fault that these players are getting injured are clueless - if anything it's the Sports Science and Recruitment department's fault, it's their job to tell him whether these players are fit/injury prone. These players are professional athletes that get paid tens of thousands a week, if they can't run hard without getting injured then someone hasn't done their due diligence on them before they were signed. All of this ultimately comes down to Levy - he's the guy responsible for how the club operates in terms of supporting the manager and the players, he's the guy responsible for our recruitment strategy, he's the guy who has decided on having a wage structure that only allows us to sign B-list players. Ange himself said as much about the academy - that he was shocked at how it was set up and that it needed an overhaul. I'm sure he feels like the same way about virtually every other aspect of the Spurs backroom. We may not be getting results at the moment, but what we've got is a manager with a vision that's compatible with the essence of the club, with a track record of success. Yes we've been waiting a long time for silverware but that is not the managers fault. He said when he was first hired that this was a long term rebuild and success won't come overnight. I think we all need to take a deep breath, stop being so emotional and have a bit more patience.

These people are probably the same ones who said we are a mid-table club without Harry Kane. This is the reality, and as much as I love Son, he is not the talisman that Kane used to for us. Liverpool has Salah, Chelsea has Palmer, City has Rodri, and we have all witnessed that it doesn't really matter how great the squad is; even without one key player, the whole system will struggle.

Hopefully, the team can turn things around and find some consistency soon. The road may be bumpy, but with his leadership, there's still plenty of reason for optimism! Here's how I see it: We have to accept that we have been losing and will likely lose more. However, this is not because the team is lazy, unmotivated, or because of Levy or Ange. IT'S BECAUSE OF THE MANY INJURIES. Injuries happen to teams. I'm sure that if Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, or Manchester City had these injuries (in these positions), they too would be losing many games. So, I accept it sh*t happens. This is football. However, there is a silver lining, my fellow Yids. Just look at how our young players handle the pressure. They're fearless, confident, and hold their heads high. They give 110% every game and fight until the end. The experience they're gaining is priceless. Usually, young players get 10 to 20 minutes a game if they're lucky, and their progress is slow, as consecutive games and many minutes are required for them to learn quickly. This has been Spurs' silver lining. These youngsters are improving rapidly, and soon enough, when they're playing alongside the seniors, they will be contributing to our success. When our Titans, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, were playing alongside our lethal wingbacks Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro, teams struggled to get a sniff at our goal. And let's not forget the great Guglielmo Vicario, who is dearly missed. At that time, we had issues with synergy upfront. Getting new players and previous players to gel together takes time and it is very frustrating. Just when they were working it out, we were hit with the great injury plague in our defence. But this hasn't stopped the progress of our attacking players. They're still improving, still working it out, and soon enough, when our Titans are back fighting with these confident lethal beasts upfront, Spurs will be dominating most teams that dare to stand in front of them. I'm sure of it. Spurs were dominating teams before the injuries took hold. Our fantastic midfield, working with the awesome defence, was lethal and embarrassing teams. So, we clearly have an awesome team, but again, injuries plagued us. Levy will back it and bring in some reinforcements, and soon enough, things will get better. I don't bet on great results this season, but I'm sure next season we will be crushing it. We must stick with Ange. He has done wonders and is the man to lead this team to glory. Give him the time to shape this team. How many years did they give Klopp? (8 years and 9 months) Arteta? (5 years) Fans crying about table position and calling for the sacking of Ange instead of understanding the facts are just sad, entitled little wa*ks. You are not the kind of supporters this team needs or wants, so p*ss off. Oh, and here's something to smile about. I've noticed a lot of people calling for the sacking of Ange are actually rival team supporters (social media accounts). If they thought Ange was crap, they wouldn't be calling for his sacking. They know he is making Spurs a lethal team, and they're crapping themselves. 😉 I see you 😄all. hahahaha COYS !!!

@carlosmorales-r3k 3 күн бұрын
All waffle here. Klopp was an elite level coach with credentials before joining Liverpool and Arteta is winning nothing at Arsenal (not sure why you want us to copy a team who wins nothing). Injury wise, how many actually start, I count 3 in VDV, Romero and Vicario. Dragusin barely started a game before. Therefore it’s a strong starting 11 we have and they’re underperforming. It’s the managers tactics that are the issues. We will lose more, you are correct but it’s the managers tactics on the demand of playing style is the reason why outfield players are constantly struggling Lethal team? This is a longterm process. Any Spurs fan calling for Ange to be sacked is a fool and without question a loser in life. When Ange signed a bunch of teenagers this summer and constantly refers to “what we’re building” did that not indicate to you that this is a longterm rebuild? WTF did you expect? He’d just come in, sell Harry Kane, and start winning titles immediately?

@@DanC-vk6qxAs a Spurs fan, I really think the media is trying to put Ange on the hot seat when even still a majority of fans are behind him, the players are behind him, and Levy is behind him. This is a total rebuild. It’s going to take time. They’re signing teenagers ffs. You don’t sign teenagers if the plan is to win immediately. You sign teenagers when you want to completely rebuild every aspect of the team over a number of years. Then OBVIOUSLY when you lose half your squad including now all of your CBs and your goalkeeper you’re going to drop points. That’s unavoidable. What makes me optimistic is that the players are still fighting even though they must be constantly sore and exhausted going 90mins every 3 days. This is the type of adversity that is so good for a team in the long run as long as you allow the manager to see it through. A couple years from now they’ll have Johnson, Gray, Bergvall, Spence, Odebert, Dragusin, etc. all with multiple years of Premier League experience and having mastered Ange’s system together. Already when healthy they can get the best of any team in the world on their day and this is the beginning phase of the rebuild. There is a ton to be excited for as a Spurs fan but only if they stick with Ange. If Levy gives into the media pressure no top manager will even want the job. Why would they after watching Pochettino, Mourinho, Nuno, and Conte all fail to win a single trophy combined? This isn’t about the manager. These bad results aren’t a problem. They’re just a step in the building process.

@ Maddison has gone backward due to his ego. Bissouma is woeful and his head has gone. Johnson has no heart or ability to press. These aren’t Ange issues. They’re issues the players all have and need to address themselves. Kulu was touted as being sold this summer. He doubled down and is POTY for us so far. Name the players who gone backwards under Ange and ask if it’s his coaching or themselves who’ve gone backwards
@mb9678
@mb9678 4 күн бұрын
@andycarmichael6671 Porro was touted as being sold when he arrived and is now our first choice right back whose better going forward than backward but again is that an Ange issue or down to Porro not studying the game and spending more time on the training pitch? Sarr is a much better player after 18 months of playing this football but is still young and raw and gets caught out at times but overall he’s contributing more to the team. If you go to games and watch his overall game you’ll see this in first person

@mb9678
@mb9678 4 күн бұрын
He’s not the scout. He’s the manager who’s asked to pick from mediocre players as Levy refuses to splash the cash as it’s more important to build a hotel or F1 track to ensure his large annual bonus. If the man cared about the club he’d put that bonus towards wages / transfer fees as he’s already the highest paid chairman despite delivering little to no silverware for us in 20 odd years

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to realise that the extraordinary amount of injuries we sustain under Postecoglu is due to the ridiculous amount of running they need to do to try to maintain his high line type of football. It's not sustainable.

It’s all a bore. Tottenham fan but so uninspired by them. Losers. But ONLY because Levy messes around, Ange messes around and does not qualify for this level of job. Defending, tactics and adaptation are fundamental and he lacks them all. Injuries are just added to that fundamental nonsense. Win us a cup Ange - any cup; and then go. Thanks.
