He quit the job controversially after qualifying for the 2018 WC finals. He said nothing at the time but it became known later that he left because he felt The Aus FA weren’t supporting him (they did not publicly back him during this time and were noticeably silent) Bert van Marwick was installed for the finals and failed to get out of a makeable group. That decision led Ange to Japan, Celtic, and the EPL. He sacrificed coaching at a WC Finals for his principles which ultimately furthered his career trajectory. Losing the Spurs job won’t devastate him and it won’t be the end of his career in top flight football. Plenty will want him. It’ll be Spurs loss, not Ange’s.

What arrogant pounces. They think English soccer is top of the world? Why have foreign players and foreign managers in your League, just have English personnel. Who are they to say that Ange is naive?
