I love how good Gunn is with the flamethrower: managed to stand perfectly from the door so that anyone who steps through the door is close enough to get fried, but far enough away that he didn't leave so much as a singe on the door behind them. Angel can walk right out of W&H for the same reason he always could: the senior partners don't want him dead. It's always been kinda fun for me to hear one of the upper managers remind someone like Lilah or Lindsey that Angel is more valuable to the firm than they are. Imagine knowing that, no matter how hard you work or how far you rise at your job, your bosses would _still_ sacrifice you in a heartbeat if it meant protecting the possibility of turning Angel dark.

This is such a thrilling episode, with a great twist ending. The way Lorne was able to tip Angel off so discretely was incredible and that final confrontation with Wolfram and Hart was so satisfying. Plus, it's so nice having Lorne move into the hotel, solidifying his place with Angel Investigations. And how great is Angel as a dad? I absolutely love that side of him. You can tell fatherhood is something he always would have liked but never thought he'd be able to achieve. Oh and of course, we can finally say hello to baby Connor. What a good, strong Irish name. Oh and thanks for pointing out the Slayer-Watcher type relationship that Holtz has with his protege. I can't believe I never noticed that parallel. Finally, how cool is the W&H records room? That woman is so cool. Stay tuned for more Three Men and a Baby: Vampire Edition.

I remember when I was watching Angel for the first time and I kind of eye-rolled when the story arc started with his son. Don't get me wrong, I still loved the characters and show, but I couldn't see how they could make this work. Wow, was I wrong. Now when I think about the entire Connor story arc, I LOVE it. I think the show took a huge turn in S3 where all the story lines were continuous and had major impact on each other. The writers, actors, directors, etc did such a fantastic job tying everything together in seasons 3-5.

Oh, hell! I never noticed before (or perhaps have forgotten) …. B5’s LYTA ALEXANDER!!!! (Holtz’ protege) (actress Patricia Talman)
@DocHogan2 ай бұрын
Patricia was the stuntwoman for the actress playing the protege character, but VERY clearly her, with a near full-screen face shot with dialog (end of the graveyard fight scene, when Holtz talks about “instrument of vengeance”, she’s apparently standing in for the character’s actress for the rest of the shots of the scene)

This was one of those episodes where you know what's going to happen, and then you don't! We knew Angel was leading them away and you knew he threw them a bomb. But we didn't know that he was going to go to Wolfram and Hart, and get protection from the source! Now the only one we have to worry about is Holz, who may not be beholden to Wolfram and Hart's policies or promises! And you are absolutely on the nose in saying that Angel has a family! It is a good solid episode! Looking forward to your reactions for the next episode already!!

I think in Dad it's only fair that Lorne is given a place to stay after his club keeps getting destroyed ever since he met Angel and his crew. Angel being so over protective of the child it becomes unnerving. Lilah talking to the girl in files and records is quite a funny scene at first, then we realise she is king of Automaton giving Lilah all the info on Holtz. It's almost like a metaphor for 'blood is thicker than water' when Angel it seems just leaves them all in the hotel putting his 'blood' family over his 'adopted' family. Wolfram and Heart of course have the place bugged with video as well. The teddy bear bomb a great scene in deceiving them all. 'Welcome Conor' possibly one of the most divisive characters in The Buffyverse! Nice final shot with the five walking away with Angel and the pushchair. Another really great S3 episode.

Well, Jules,💜 a happy episode for you in this one. The “woman’s touch” jibe from Cordelia sort of sets the tone here, as the various groups gather for supremacy in the task at hand, and family is brought up a number of times. 2:36 - the thing that gets me, every time, with this one… how Angel goofs around with the bottle, in an effort to get him to stop crying, but only ever teases the baby, never actually attempting to “give” him the bottle. To the point I want to yell at the screen - just give him the … 🤭😅 Holtz - nice observation, he does appear ready to take on the role of Giles in Angelville. Solidifying his purpose, and ideals and ridding himself of Sahjahn, as the demon doesn’t truly support Holtz’s view, or true purpose. At 13:00, you jump quickly into an observation, that even W&H, with their 35 cabinets of Angel info, fail to predict, and it slowly appears they may yet be a “family”. 🥰 Even as Holtz goes off, seemingly in pursuit of like minded folks as well. A nice touch, Angel taking it to Linwood, and giving him a “personal” interest in Connor’s well- being. An episode which, mainly, establishes a baseline of sorts, for the direction the story seems to be heading, with Holtz forming a little team, with Justine, which looks to be counter to both Angel and W&H. But, as you say, Holtz might be open to joining forces with the nasty lawyers… Who knows? 🤔 Many great observations and listing out some good possibilities, in your outro. Thorough, per usual. I have only 1 bone to pick with you - doubting Lorne?? My goodness! Thankfully, it was only for seconds. But really! “Angel and Connor Daddy Adventures” 😊 The mention that Gwen, Files & Records, played by Flo, the Progressive lady… Progressive is a comprehensive insurance company, with hundreds of TV commercials - and their main face in the commercials, for several years, is Flo - or late days Gwen. So there would be no reason you would have seen her before, probably. I'm not sure many folks recognize her here. A good episode, lots of setup, and much Dad goofiness from Angel. I’m glad you got a happy one for a change, once again. Have a wonderful Tuesday, Jules.💜🤗💜 Enjoy your time, get stuff done, get out, watch your BnB family, up the tree 🔭, and have a bite or two of something sweet! 😋

Tom 💜🤗 Don't tell Lorne!! Please 🤣 I can't imagine the sad puppy dog look on his face hahahaha! I absolutely adore him. If he turned out bad, it would ruin me. I've already lost SO much hope and faith due to the Buffy show, I need ONE thing to remain beautiful and constant like Lorne! I BEG! I adore seeing Daddy Angel. The fact that he never thought he'd be a dad, and to see this come true for him (and I bet it was something he thought of, and probably dwelled on from time to time)... it's just so lovely. I'm sad to see so many comments saying they don't like Connor. I do not share those thoughts! I've been watching my birdies stretch their wings and preen their short, stumpy tails and it won't be long. Within a week, I reckon they'll have flown the nest. All 3 of them. I've been looking at properties to buy lately and dreaming about having a big backyard with trees for birds to nest in and my two goats. I don't know if it will ever come true, but I can only hope. Enjoy your day, dear Tom. Thank you for the kind words, as always, and the lifted spirit. You are always needed 💜

I'm files and records. Lot I liked in this episode. Yikes that's a lot of early optimism Jules. The grappler costumes were pretty bad, good work poisoning them. Heckle and Jeckle. Nice hero shot rolling the baby down the hallway. Lorne, the demon, always feels like the best of all of them.

Having a baby in the picture definitely changes the mood for the episode. Just a little bit of whimsey on Heraldo Angel's part. But the writing rankles a bit. I'm not saying I know how to raise babies myself -- I only ever had the one -- but I've seen enough real-life parenting to be wincing at all the details that just feel wrong, and at the fact that none of the characters -- or is it the writers and the actors? -- seem to know better.

@@Wannabe_Baby Some people really hate having babies on a show. For the show it can make things difficult, which is why they are usually not there a lot, which is unrealistic in real life. Unless you have a full-time nanny. LOL I guess that's Lorne's job now. But for some reason, fans don't often like it either. 🤔
